THIS PLACE SHOULD HAVE 5 STARS! I?ve been to 2 el maguey locations but this is my first time at this one since all my family... said this was the best spot. Came in on a Thursday afternoon around 1pm and the place was at full capacity so I knew the foodwould be good. I ordered the 3 taco meal (carne asada, chicken, and carnitas) with rice and beans, a margarita, and aquesadilla to go THE FOOD WAS SOOOOOO GOOD! Specifically the carne asada and carnitas taco! The portions were bigger than anyother Mexican restaurant, they did not skimp on the meat! You can literally see the seasoning on your food so you know it?sseasoned well and I love that the salsa verde has good spice to it. The margarita was also good and I burned my mouth on thebeans but I kept going haha I?m really surprised that this place does not have a better rating and IMO it reflects the customermore than it does the restaurant. If you do not like something about your food ITS UP TO YOU to inform your server so that theycan fix the situation, otherwise of course you?re going to have a mediocre meal. The servers continually check in and ask youhow everything is and whether you like what you have so remember to speak up if something isn?t up to your standards! I willdefinitely be back with my family! Read more

The food was delicious and came to the table fast and hot. The atmosphere was fun and festive. The mariachi had current songs... that they sing and catered to what the table was celebrating. One of the musician had a bag full of instruments he would justpull out of and start playing when that part was done he would put it away and grab another and play the next part of the song.Very talented. Had a great time! We'll be back Read more

Nasty food, fajita vegetables were soggy and mushy. Server came to take our order and a man dropped off our meal in less then... 10minutes. Never saw our server again we finally had to track her down to get our bill. Our water glasses were empty we wantedmore sour cream and sauce, that never happened. We won't be back! I am always a big tipper but her tip was 1 cent. Food was notprepared fresh. You can't have soggy overcooked fajitas prepared in less than 10 minutes. It was old! Read more

I have been going to this restaurant for years, but today I had the absolute worst experience. They ask you to be patient due to... short staff, but they don't even have the courtesy to offer you water. When you speak to the manager, instead of him addressingyour issues he sends over a teenage girl, who just started working there. My food was overcooked but there was no one to tell, because again, no manager presence. When I was able to address the issues with the manager all I got was double charged fromdrinks that were wrong when they reached our table. I am not one to complain about a restaurant but I felt I needed to warn thepublic. They only got the one star because I can't post this without it. Read more

The queso dip with chorizo was good. The wings had a good flavor but I asked for them to be crispy and they were not. The Pina... colada margarita was also good. The restaurant was understaffed. I know because there were two signs posted that said so. Itdid take a long time to get our order taken and to receive our food. One of the items ordered was never brought to the table. Acouple that came in after us, was served before us. I would return but maybe with a smaller party and on a less busy day. Read more

The service was great. They were on top of it the whole night and I was at a busy table and they still kept up. The drinks are... huge and the refills never slowed. The food isn?t the traditional Mexican that I am use to but must people enjoyed their meal. This little flag in the burrito was the cutest and this burrito was amazing. The salsa was not spicy but came in this adorablelittle jar. The cheese fries were ok and the Avocado appetizer was great. Read more
