Got myself a chicken cheese steak from Wali Kafe for lunch today. I think they use the white chicken from restaurant depot. It... has a weird smell to it. Couldn?t swallow it. Wali Kafe is a fantastic addition to downtown Bridgeport! I was immediately interested in their boba milk teas and was so... surprised and pleased when they told me I could keep the fancy glass and straw it came in! The straw was a little too small forthe boba to come up, but they seem to be aware of that already and looking into changing the straws. I thought they had a greatvariety on their menu of healthy foods, as well as comfort foods. Breakfast is served all day, so I had an order of the avocadotoast, which was flavorful. My fiancé really wanted to try the chopped cheese - ground beef isn?t really my thing, but he lovedit! The bread was super fresh that it came on. The Cabo sandwich and garlic parm fries stood out the most and were delicious! Isaw some good looking pastries in a case when I walked in, which I was told came from a local bakery. I had the chocolate creamcannoli, which was phenomenal! I just loved the character at Wali Kafe, from the neon sign, to the chalk drawn menu with nods toBridgeport history, and the many games available. If I lived or worked closer, I would definitely be here more frequently! Myone critique is that the music was very, very loud that came from the speaker in front of the door, which I know would distractme if I tried to do work here. Absolutely superb lunch spot in downtown Bridgeport. It's changed ownership since I've been here last, yet the food is as good... as ever, dare I say even better. Got the Downtown Panini, highly recommend. Read more
