Best sushi ever!!! Update. USED to be best sushi ever. I have had a couple unpleasant experiences and yet I keep coming back bc... they are the only sushi place in town? Got sick once on the soft shell crab, still came back This one, I just can?t seespending the money anymore. Spoke with the manager on duty today and was told that ?there are six pieces of eel in there, mam? Isaid I don?t remember paying $16 for mostly rice. To which he responded ?you must not have come in a long time?. So apparentlywe used to get more for less money. I get it. I come about once a month, but I hadn?t ordered the caterpillar roll in about ayear? Don?t go here if you want value for your money and don?t look up at the ceiling above the booths? mold central. I canabide by a lot, I?m really patient and I was very polite when spoke to the rude manager. I?m also not a person who complains alot, but I?m going to spend any more money here. This is why businesses are closing. Poor value and poor management. Mywaitress was AMAZING though!!! 5 stars for her! Read more

I hope this was a one off experience and not something that is going to be the new norm here. We got $70 worth of sushi the... other day to go and it was not good. H-E-B has better sushi for half the price. I?ll give them the benefit of being very busywhen I went to pick up. I placed the order online, walked in the door, and waited over 20 minutes before anyone ever even saidanything to me. The couple who walked in 10 minutes after me were threatening to leave. The crab Rangoon we ordered was icecold, the sushi was not quality and the rolls were just thrown together. I hope they can fix this, it?s the only restaurant forsushi in town. Read more

Was in town from Houston. Had been all day without a meal and since it was close to the freeway it was visible to stop by and... get something fulfilling to eat. Staff was friendly and ready to help. Really Enjoyed the hibachi after a long day it broughtgiggles watching the chef toss food to the other guests. Food was flavorable and portion was more than enough and was able tostill take a to go plate. Read more

They lost our business. Not that the food is all that, but good enough & we can save on gas by not driving into Bryan for really... good hibachi. The place is completely empty on a Saturday night. Not one person there! Me and my husband and our son go in andwe are set by a gentleman at the hibachi table. A few minutes later a lady comes over and tells use that we have to move fromwhere he has seated us, over to the edge. My husband says he does not want to be seated on the very edge (that the corner isfine) and that this is where he was seated and is happy with the location. She explained the waiter was new and we had to move.Being that we all eat fillet steak, sushi rolls, and often a few drinks, that?s a lot of money to turn down when you don?t havea soul in site offering you money. Let?s add that my husband is a stupidly good tipper and always tips over 20%. Again not oneperson in the place so they didn?t need the spots. Just rude! So now we drive to Bryan for good hibachi. I?m personally happythey were rude! It?s worth the $20 in gas when your spending that kinda money for one dinner. It?s so much taster at Atami! Yum,my mouth is watering as we drive there, while writing this review. Read more

I ordered the OMG roll and really liked it. The service was subpar and i felt rushed by the waiter. I literally sat down and 45... seconds later I was already being asked if I'm ready to order. The restaurant appearance needs attention. It's part of the wholedining experience. Read more

Owner filled up the restaurant for Mother?s Day even though they knew they wouldn?t have staff to handle it. (We made a... reservation well in advance for our group of 14). Floor was covered in grease and it was probably 90 degrees in the dining area(before they started cooking in front of us). We got our first round of drinks after about an hour? Hibachi chef (super niceguy) told us he usually works in the back. He ruined (overcooked) the food, didn?t know how to do any of the typical hibachitricks. I spoke to the manager, who didn?t seem to care. Most of us didn?t eat our food as it was destroyed over the 2+ hours ofsomeone trying to learn how to cook on a hibachi grill. If you don?t like dirty rags touching your food, this may not be theplace for you. We have been to other Shogun locations and have never seen anything like this. Read more
