This is a combination of table service and counter service. We sat out front for table service, and it was pretty slow. We... waited for our check for a while and couldn?t find our server, also it was a bit pricey for what you get. Their pulled pork andMac and cheese was delicious. This place in my opinion has the best whiskey, scotch and bourbon selection in Breckenridge Colorado. They have great old... fashions. You can get them served in a wood barrel while be smoked. There is a up charge for this though but we?ll worth theexperience. They have inside and outside seating with a fire pit and it?s right on Main Street. They also have a barbecue placein there. They also have a small Balcony upstairs that?s outside. I highly recommend this place and will be back! Read more
Really great food, but service is standard pit BBQ - order in a cafeteria style line and get fresh food on your plate. It can... take forever though, if you're going during rush hour. Atmosphere - 8/10 classic BBQ and bar. Nice and cool atmosphere Food -10/10 the brisket was fantastic as was the turkey and loaded brisket Mac and cheese. Best Mac and cheese I've ever had. Verygood. The cornbread was a tad on the dry side, but much better than other places. Drinks - 10/10 the smokehouse Sazerac wasphenomenally delightful Service - nonexistent because it's that pit BBQ style. Awesome food and an awesome vibe!! The baked potato with pulled pork was great, but the brisket dinner was fantastic! I loved... the cole slaw (which is a requirement with BBQ) and the mac & cheese was good. The Whiskey Star Old Fashioned was excellent! It uses the local whiskey from the Breckenridge Distillery. Some of the food was pretty good. Smoked turkey, sausage, and chopped brisket were the favorites of our group. All had a good,... smoky flavor. The wet portions of the sliced brisket were excellent! I found the corn bread to be a bit dry (I don?t think itwas b/c it was southern-style, since it was sweet). I was also disappointed with the brisket. I asked for wet brisket, and theportions that were wet were great! But most of it was dry (however it still had good flavor). All of the sauces were a bit toosweet for my liking. Online ordering through Toast was very confusing. The one meat platter said it came with two sides, butwould only let you select one. When I ended up calling to order I was informed that the platter came with corn bread andcoleslaw, which wasn?t stated on Toast. Read more
We had the brisket Mac n Cheese with a 1 meat platter of brisket, whiskey beans, and potato salad. The whiskey beans were... amazing. I wasn?t a huge fan of the potato salad but I prefer mustard based. The flavor of the brisket was spot on but if Iwere to critique it, it was on the dry side. We were walking Main st. When I caught the smell of fresh brisket on a smoker. I continued down the street till I found it.... Whiskey Star Smokehouse is the real deal. Thats coming from a Texas boy that loves barbecue. The brisket has a great bark and isso juicy. Melt in you mouth. The food was so good I forgot to take pics. We did order another brisket mac n cheese to go becauseit was amazing. They have 3 signature sauces and all of them are worthy for an award ????. Great place, excellent customerservice, and the atmosphere is electric ???? I will be back. Best barbecue in Breckinridge. Read more
