Reviews for Swiss Haven Restaurant in Breckenridge, CO
Excellent!! Hans was so nice, and the chicken fondue - yum!! We added potatoes, soup and strawberry salad, all delicious. Next... time we will try cheeses and dessert :) Read more
What a treat to find a fondue restaurant! The cheese was amazing. We added apples and the cherry brandy on the side (in case... someone didn't like it) and the chocolate fondue. No regrets! Read more
I last ate here decades ago. It was okay. We had a meat fondue. The meat was and broth were fine. The vegetable selection was... sad. Baby carrots (as in the paired down grocery store variety)? Frozen broccoli? Dipping sauces were tasty. Read more
For several summers now, we have eaten at Swiss Haven. Every summer, the kids insist on going back multiple times. It is a great... place for families as well as groups of friends. The food and staff always exceed expectations. Read more
Swiss Haven was ok. Just ok. The best part of the experience was our server, who was hard-working, humorous, and enthusiastic.... The restaurant itself was lacking in ambiance, very loud, and cramped. The food was ok, nothing special as for flavor. The foodquantity was small. The cheese fondue bowl was about 1/5 full. Same with the chocolate fondue (see photos of fork and smallmarshmallow showing level of chocolate fondue fill level). In fact, for the high price of the food, the quality and quantity wasseriously lacking. If you come here wanting to feel full after spending $100/head, you’ll be disappointed. Be prepared tospend a lot of money for a mediocre experience. I get that this is a ski resort town and we should expect pricey meals, but wealso ate at Twist and Salt Creek Steak House, and both of those are far better value for the money. Read more
I give massive credit to the staff. The waiters are attentive and fast. It's welcoming and the atmosphere is comfortable. The... absinthe is was lovely, and served perfectly. The food though.. being handed untoasted sliced italian bread is a bit sad. Thesingular apple that was the side was grainy (granted, it was February). Raw mushrooms were a bit of a miss. Lights steamedbroccoli and carrots worked well. The important bit, the cheese itself, was quite tasty. For the price, the food is anembarrassment. Still, the location, staff, and drinks are solid. Quaint, cozy and... definitely unique atmosphere w excellent service and attentive staff. The selection of Belgium beers is great and I love thetuna and shrimp fondues. The dining room is frequently warmer than necessary ...so dress appropriately w layers in winter. A funevening all around! Read more
