Pretty disappointed. We made a reservation and showed up on time. The restaurant was maybe 1/3 full and had many open tables.... The host told us we had to wait to be seated. This was a surprise because 2/3 of the restaurant is vacant. A couple walked inbehind us and they seated them immediately. The were dressed up and looked much nicer than us. We then got seated after them andhad to listen to their conversation. I should have taken pictures of my food for reference. -Spicy hand roll was good -miso wasgood -sushi sampler was bad -hibachi sirloin was bad Growing up in Hawaii may have created an unfair preference for fishquality and sushi. But, this was NOT good. The sampler also came with a tuna roll. It was the most pathetic excuse for a roll Ihave ever had. It was 6 pices so small and flavorless I questioned why it was included. For 26 bucks I'm very disappointed. Mypartner got the steak and I noticed they were having trouble eating it. They gave me a piece and it was cooked to a rubberconsistency. I couldn't chew through it. I felt bad. I'm sad to write this because I live close and was hoping for a good newsushi spot. I don't recommend it. Our server was great though. Read more

Unfortunately my to-go rolls were below expectations. We ordered a variety of rolls. They were lacking in flavor and the rice... was dry so the rolls did not hold together at all. The chicken in the kid's Katsu roll was so dry not even my dog would eatit. For the price I really was hoping for a higher quality meal, to be honest the sushi from the grocery store would have beenjust as good or better. The restaurant venue was nice and the staff was friendly so I'll come back and try again and hopefullyhave better luck. Read more

We got 5 rolls and while all of them tasted great, they were very poorly constructed. I think the problem is in both the rice... and the sushi roller. Rice was not sticking together and everything was falling apart. Did not taste any vinegar in rice either.Making sushi rice is an art and they are not there at all. Out of 5, 4 rolls were just placed together in row, which meant theywere not fully cut so we made a mess of trying to pick them off the plate. 90% of sushi making is presentation and they aredefinitely lacking severely in this department. The sushi cuts varied in size, some being 3x bigger than others. I lived in Asiaand can use chopsticks well, but both me and my partner struggled eating one sushi piece together with all the ingredients. Igave them 4 stars for the taste but for the most expensive sushi in Bozeman, I would expect a lot better presentation. Hopefullythey teach their rollers to roll better and be more competitive in the market. I will not be back since a lot of the rolls wereunreasonably priced over $20. You can get better quality for cheaper in Bozeman. Read more

Edit: Our second visit was MUCH better! We were impressed with the food and service. Try the KB and the Maguro, they're... delicious. Not great. Our food wasn’t very flavorful or the quality we expected. And the service was extremely slow. Thereare much better places to grab sushi in Bozeman. Hope this is just a “new restaurant thing” and will get better over time. Read more

Excellent addition to the sushi scene in Bozeman! We had two specialty rolls & a regular Maki roll. The meat at Hachi is... remarkably fresh and their maki rolls really showcase the high quality fish they use. We’re so glad this is on our side oftown- but also very scared for our wallets. Check it out! Read more
