This used to a very good place to go for breakfast or brunch and is walking distance of where I live. Recently I've seen things... go down for the worst with regards to the cooking and the wait staff. Yesterday I called to try to place a pick up or to-goorder and I couldn't get anyone on the phone so I walked over. They comped my food which was pretty good so I returned today todine outside. There were no tables when I arrived. Wait staff just kind of directed me to sit in the shade and left me there. I took about a 5-10 min walk and came back and was able to be seated. Food came very poor quality. Fried egg burnt to a crisp,biscuit and gravy was also burnt and served with a spoonful of gravy. Overall I think they try and the prices are good so Igive them 2 stars. They will need to get better cooks and quality wait and cashier staff to cover the phones going forward. Iwill have to spend more to dine at another neighborhood spot that is much more reliable. Food was great. Service was good. Nice. Quaint. Homey vibe. The train is right there every few minutes; however, such a ice vibe... I didn't care about the train. Nice shops next door too. Water I right down the street over the railroad tracks Read more
Breezy outdoor dining was so relaxing. I adore the Gluten Free & Veggie options on the menu...GF wraps & bread to order. Cool... location not far from the library & the beach! Sweet servers with kind smiles! Read more
I am posting this today as I was informed by the server Shelley the cafe is under new ownership. I reduced the rating to 3 stars... because, although the food was comparable (certainly not better) it was remarkably more expensive...and service not asattentive. I wish them luck but so far evidence is not improved. I did not find it a value as it had been. ....the following isthe initial post.....5 stars because the staff is so accommodating and happy to provide service with a smile and great food.These folks are presently serving 7am-9pm. Photo below shows my delicous order of home fries with veggies a personal favorite.Dinner meals beginning at 2pm. East Ocean Cafe is a small eatery, but for those that prefer provides additional outsidetables. The coffee is quite good, they use a special blend . All meals made fresh as ordered. If you only care about food, they have good food. Waited outside for a couple minutes before we were even spoken to.... Unfortunately the place is very dirty, and we were seated right next to a dirty AC unit. The food took longer than 30 minutesand we never got a refill on our drinks. Great food, but service is a little slow for such a small place. Be patient and it is worth the wait.
Quaint little breakfast spot, perfect for a local breakfast experience. Nestled on a quiet corner, with great outdoor seating.... Everything was cooked to order, took a little bit, but worth the wait. We enjoyed the Biscuit and Gravy special; served with twoeggs, any style, and home fries. Also had the East Ocean sandwich consisting of perfectly cooked bacon, egg, and cheese on aKaiser roll, served with home fries. Used to be amazing nut has gone down the toilet! Slow food, and filthy! My husband waited for over 30 minutes for the check.... After we had already gotten up and left the building. Have eaten here a lot of times before and been very happy. And there'snothing wrong with reusing bottles to save a few bucks. But do not reuse filthy containers. Concerned that I may be sick fromthis later. I asked for another napkin and waited 10 minutes. Bottom line is the service is slow the food is low quality and I'mnot sure how this place gets through a health inspection. Read more
