Over priced and over hyped. Took 20 minutes longer than they told me it would for a single pizza. Ordered online... pick-up. Ordered pepperoni and mushrooms pizza and was surprised to find it covered in cheddar cheese. There was a LOT ofcheese which is normally really nice, but cheddar is too powerful of a cheese to just casually put on top of every pizza,especially without warning. I'm pretty much obsessed with pizza and rarely have any complaints. I personally think its hard to mess up something as magical... as bread and cheese. But this place somehow managed to disappoint me. First of all, it took about 15 to 20 minutes longer formy order to be ready than they said it would, which I could have let slide if the pizza were actually worth the money and thewait. Unfortunately, it wasn't. The crust is dense and although covered in an insanely large amount of cheese, they topped itwith cheddar. I understand some people like cheddar on pizza, but I feel like its something you should pick or at least bewarned about. Cheddar is just too powerful so its about all I tasted. Cheddar and dense bread. The toppings (pepperoni &mushroom) were completely drowned out. Definitely not worth $30. I can put cheese on bread at home for much cheaper. Read more
Always spot on! Great location, great vibe, great menu, great staff, and always exactly what you are looking for in a... Italian/Greek type restaurant. Not too fancy, not too down home, just right!!!! We have been coming here since they opened in1978! That's right, since '78! It is always exactly what you hope it will be. The pizzas, the pastas, the salads are allAMAZING!!! An excellent, well trained staff. Nice and not stuffy....lots of 'ribbing' going back and forth.....it really sets anice tone. Please try this place, you will NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!!! We really love their Greek salad with feta dressing!! Theyare all so good, very hard to single any one out. Went to Sparta for the very first time today. All I can say is that their slogan "Best pizza in the universe!" is not wrong. Got... my go to pepperoni and mushrooms pizza same as I do at every new pizza place I try and I was not disappointed. Amazing crust,not greasy at all and the cheese on the top was to die for. Tiramisu is delicious and homemade by the owner. Raina, out serverwas so sweet, knowledgeable about the menu and the business and all around a pleasure. Sparta had a life long customer inme. My family and I came here twice because the food is delicious! My husband really enjoyed his pizza, my son and I loved our order... of the half & half- cheese ravioli?s/spaghettini and we nearly ate all the bread with the side of pesto sauce. Yum! So much tochoose from on their menu! We ordered to go both times and the food kept nicely till? we got back to our hotel. I was alsoimpressed by the kind and friendly younger man who worked as host. He was very attentive to processing our order to our likingand even started a conversation with us which was pleasant and welcoming. I highly recommend this place! Visited on March 20, 2021 @ 1pm. First time visiting to this local restaurant after reading the reviews. Ordered- No.32 Medium... pizza from the menu. Pizza was yummy ???? but too much of cheese and very less chicken. Italian specialty- Chicken casserolewith Garlic bread, and soup. I asked what type of soup, server (girl with colored hair) said it?s a chicken soup. After placingorder, 10 minutes later she says we don?t have this variety and she can get another chicken soup. I checked the soup and themeat looked weird. Waited for 10 minutes and called the server, she checked with the cook and it?s a sausage soup. It was sofrustrating, we don?t eat Pig and cows. I told her to take it away. She got us a salad after 10 minutes. The casserole was blandand tasteless. Customer service- horrible- 0/5. The server doesn?t know the soups, was not sorry for delaying our order, didnot bring the garlic bread. We waited for another 20 minutes. Called another guy for the garlic bread. Well, I love supportinglocal restaurants and buisness. But very unhappy with the service I got from this place. PS- the server was providing fastservice for other tables and not for us? When out of town I tend to explore restaurants I wouldn't be able to dine at regularly. That's this place! Small town original... Italian restaurant. We arrived with a 20min wait to be seated, they sat us within 15mins. Although the waiting space is a bitawkward, everyone standing everywhere. It was efficient. We ordered chicken fettuccine, meatball sub with marinara sauce and achicken sandwhich. All with a fresh side salad. Our waitress was fast, and our food was served quickly. Great little place totake your family. They also serve beer and wine if you choose. Overall was a pleasant experience and would totally recommend. Read more
