Intimate speakeasy-themed cocktail bar in what used to be a private room for Troquet on South (French-American bistro). Call for... reservations and for someone to open unmarked Utica Street/Alley door. The green \'Praying Mantis\' sounded ridiculous and itwas. Read more

Cute place to go on a date?. for drinks only. Place its very tiny, dark and cozy. Took me a little bit to find because it?s... behind the building. When you get there you need to call the number on the door. I didn?t like my first drink (tasted like ribs????) so I ordered $20 glass of champagne just to be on the safe side. They only served appetizers? nothing I liked. We orderedchicken fingers and olives. I went to the bathroom and found out I was inside the restaurant on the other side of the building.I?d go back if they had better food menu. Read more

One of the best cocktail bars I\'ve had the pleasure of experiencing. Not only is it secluded, but it\'s also the true... definition of a speakeasy and the food is excellent. Outstanding overall experience and we will be back again for theexperience. Read more

Great, unique drinks that are unexpectedly delicious. Recommend the six second rule, it has odd ingredients for a cocktail yet... its completely clear. No tomato or watermelon taste. Really unique, wouldn\'t miss. One of the best drinks I\'ve had in awhile. Very refreshing and tasty. Handsome devil was nice and strong. Pink drink has a lot of fresh ginger if that is yourthing. Overall great drinks and service! Go early to get a table. Recommend showing up before 10, to get a table on a Saturdaynight before 1130. Read more

Behind a nondescript black door on an alley-way in the Leather District (you\'ve gotta call the number next to the door), is... probably one of the best bars in Boston. An intimate space, with dim lighting and armchairs you just sink into, the decor issubtle and loud at the same time (there\'s nothing subtle about a stag head on a wall, but you barely notice it somehow). Theacoustics are such that even when people look like they\'re being loud in the seats across from you, you can\'t hear them, butthe person you\'re across from can hear you sorta clearly.\nThe drinks are great. I had the Seaward, and I don\'t think I\'vehad such a beautifully layered and complex drink in a while. Blended and meshed so perfectly i can\'t identify the specificingredients, and the aftertaste from the leaf in it was invigorating, but not overwhelming. My friend had an Espresso Martini, and they said they\'ve never had a better one, and I agree. I\'m not a fan of those, but I\'d definitely drink that.\nNow, thisis a speakeasy, so good drinks are expected. Their food however, also bears mentioning. I had the burger, which was a greatburger overall. Unfortunately, it was compared to the Pow Pow shrimp my friend had, and the burger fares poorly there. Theabsolute explosion of flavor that was the shrimp was unexpected but oh so good. The name is very apt.\nService was quick andfriendly, not overly chatty but also not completely standoffish. It should be noted that the check comes with cigarette candy ina cigarette case, which I felt was a nice touch.\nOverall, loved it, and definitely coming back. Read more

The coolest spot to get a drink in Boston with the BEST espresso martinis in Boston even better than the North End. Also love... the photo from The Shining on the wall. They only have a small number of reservations at the beginning of the night which is theway to go!!! CALL?don?t knock. Read more

Been eyeing to go to this spot since it opened. Went with some co-workers on a Thursday night and there was no wait. Off the... bat, this is one of Boston\'s best gems. First of all it\'s a true speakeasy, unlike these other spots that broadcast themselvesall over social media completely taking away from the experience of a speakeasy.\n\nBest of luck finding the entry and best ofluck finding Utica st. It will be an enjoyable time. Ample parking around.\n\nThe interior is sexy, intimate, candle lit, andgrundgy. I F**k with it, not even going to hold back hahaha.\n\nCocktails are great and unique twists on classics. The servicewas too notch and knowledgeable in their craft. Very attentive and at the right time too. The music is played from a vinylplayer. Loud enough to feel like a lounge but can still have a full conversation.\n\nOverall, I highly recommend this place. Gomentally prepared to have fun and be flexible if they are booked. A spot will open and you shouldn\'t walk away. Wait out the30-45 minutes for a seat. Last thing, I highly recommend you only go with a party no bigger than 4. This location is small, seats roughly 20 people. Read more

Really great chill speakeasy.came on a Thursday night and had no wait. The drinks were really good and offered variety for all.... The food was good but a little underwhelming with the portions. Definitely try the pow pow shrimp but pass on the croquettes.Service was overall really good with our server being very attentive. Use the images in the reviews to find the door on utica. Read more
