Reviews for Jonquils Cafe and Bakery in Boston, MA
Wow! Talk about a dessert experience. Jonquils offers wonderfully crafted cakes and top notch aesthetics. I initially got the... Honey Pear and it was so good that I went for a second cake and got the Autumn Leaf. The general layers of the cakes are mousse, sponge, coulis, and crunch. I liked the flavor profile of the Honey Pear more than the Autumn Leaf. Also, the Autumn Leaf?s wasa bit too hard and was hard to slice of with the plastic fork. The cakes were not overly sweet and provided a great combo ofvisual appeal, flavor, and texture. This place is definitely in my top 3 dessert spots. A bit pricey at ~$10 per cake. Read more
Great place! First of all, the pastries are so beautiful that you almost don't want to eat them. ALMOST. We tried two and they... were both delicious. The one that looks like a tulip had an amazing raspberry flavor and the apple one was especially fun to eatbecause of the textures. My only complaint is that if you show up later during the day like we did, you won't have as manychoices because it seems like they sell out quickly. So head there on the earlier side if you can! One of the most instagram-worthy cafes in Boston. With beautiful interior and marvelously decorated desserts, Jonquils offers a... memorable experience for people looking for great photos. The cakes are decorated with a gradation of colored powders, and theirsignature flowering tea drinks look stunning. On my recent visit, I got to try some of their cakes including the mango, tulip, and the rose with a Spanish latte. The latte was great, but the mousse cakes were just average for the price as the lack ofgarnish or toppings made the variations of flavor minimal. Definitely a great place to lighten up your mood, but make sure to goearly as possible if you want to try their popular drink and dessert menus. Read more
Hands down best bakery in Boston!! Both the art and the taste is exquisite. Rich in flavor and perfectly created. Was almost too... pretty to eat! I also had the Espresso Havana and it was so unique; best of both worlds. It was so sparkly & smooth definitelysomething you can only get here. Highly recommend Jonquils to all the dessert & coffee lovers out there!! Read more
Great experience. Got there super early since we knew it was popular. The staff were extremely nice and patient while my group... browsed the menu for a while. The store itself was gorgeous super clean with plenty of seating. I never felt rushed. Thedesserts were of course the highlight of the day. Stunning visually and the taste to match. I was visiting my sister in Bostonand have decided this is a must see for every time I visit from here on out. Read more
Beautiful desserts and a lovely atmosphere I was so excited to try Jonquils after seeing some photos of their innovative... dessert creations, and it totally met and exceeded this expectations. Not only were the desserts visually beautiful, they eachhad their own delicious flavors and were extremely well balanced. Additionally they had a number of coffee and teas (includingsome gorgeous and delicious blooming teas) which is always a plus for us tea drinkers. I can?t wait to go back, and bring myfriends and family to check it out when they come to visit! Read more

This place is so cute and the desserts are literally made to perfection. I?m not joking. They use 3D technology to create the... pastries here. I?m never seen anything like it. They are also low in sugar so they aren?t insanely sweet. I had 2 desserts and Iloved them both. Definitely a hit. There?s a lot of seating inside, too. I highly recommend if you pass this on Newbury street. Read more
