We were big fans of Boston Chops Downtown before the pandemic having been a few times and so were crushed when they closed. To... hear of the reopening we were beyond excited, and so last night prior to seeing a show we returned and wow, it's *better* thanit used to be! The staff and management have just absolutely nailed this reopen--the restaurant looks incredible (the bull muralis A+) and staff are super polished and professional. The ambiance of the restaurant is just top notch. Food was excellent, ouroysters had no shells and were chilled, steaks cooked perfectly to order, and the best was our incredible server Lauren B whoprovided a superb level of service that really set the night. Drinks were fantastic, our martinis were perfect (my husband saidhis extra dirty martini was the best he's had recently). And you can't forget about the fries. The French fries are stillsensational and taste even better than McDonald's--if you don't order the fries you are really missing out, get them! We didn'tgrab dessert (the Espresso Martinis were extra yummy) but that warm chocolate cake is mine next time. Overall it was a grandslam night that we really enjoyed, thank you Boston Chops Downtown and congratulations on the reopening. Read more

If you want steak in Boston, this is the place to get it. The 14 oz Prime NY Strip was completely solid: great product, great... execution. The classic iceberg wedge was a different (and excellent) take on the OG by only taking a slice out of the middle(that’s the ‘equatorial’ per of it) and the infusion of bleu cheese dressing into the crannies. The French Onion soup isultra rich with a very dark beef stock. That super cool richness is by design and trust me, it’s a good thing, not a bad. Winelist: top drawer. The service was excellent. With so many steak houses out there it is hard to know how to choose. This is asolid choice. Read more

2nd time attending Downtown Boston Chops. Food was VERY good (due to low expectations), excellent service, excellent steaks,... quite good sides (better than Ruth Chris but not as good as Strip by Strega’s), excellent appetizers, decent desserts, andgood wine. Nice, classy vibe. Clean, spacious bathrooms are single-stalls and are on the right side of the restaurant. Tip: goright before dinner time / before it gets busy. Food & service tends to be better. Although the popovers won’t be asfresh. 1)  Appetizer = Roasted Bone Marrow - $12 – two bone marrows, with 3 pieces of grilled bread, parsley salad(scallions & fresh parsley), and bacon & onion jams (jams tasted like grilled, fall of the bone, pulled pork and the onionwasn’t too over-powering). All ingredients together complimented each other very well. Excellent and would definitely getagain. 2)  14 oz Prime Rib Eye Steak with confit Garlic & Herb Sachet - $49 – perfect medium rare, steak was tender & juicy, could definitely taste the hint of butter that was used in the grilled pan, and would most definitely get it again – I fullybelieve the garlic & herbs really made the steak fabulous. The 3 garlic cloves were soft enough to be crushed and smoothedagainst the steak. Decorated on top were rosemary stems. 3)  14 oz Bone-In Filet Mignon - $57 – super tender, melt in yourmouth, juicy steak. Definitely one of the best filet mignons I’ve had. Would definitely get it again. Steak was perfectlymedium rare but was a lot more rare closer to the bone. 4)  Popovers – slightly burnt on the outside (usually not) but stillbuttery and soft on the inside. Wasn’t as hot or fresh as the first time we went. 5)  Side = Herb Roasted FingerlingPotatoes & Lardons - $10 – could’ve been more thinly sliced, but the herbs were nicely strong and flavorful. Potatoes weredowsed in oil but it didn’t feel heavy or too greasy. Lardons were chopped up into tiny pieces and were burnt & hard –tastes great when eaten together with the Read more

Went for Lunch. They were relatively empty so we were seated quickly. They offer a lunch menu as well as the normal menu. Both... my husband and I ordered a sandwich. We were looking at the fish tacos but it was $17 for 2 tacos and rice and beans....Ithought that was exorbitant pricing. I ordered the Reuben and he ordered the fried chicken sandwich. I ordered the Pina conChile. This ended up being a great spicy drink with a very nice presentation. Before our food came we each received a cutepopover with butter. Both sandwiches had great flavor. The Reuben was very tasty and had a nice balance with the slaw andRussian dressing. The fried chicken sandwich was enormous. It had a nice crunch and was very juicy. My husband especially likedthe spicy sauce. The space is huge and I love how its decorated. The experience was great until we had to wait almost 20 minsafter we finished eating for our bill. All and all I would return for Lunch and Dinner. Read more

The best Boston dinner I've ever had. Simply superior service to every other establishment I've been to. I got the Sea bass and... it was cooked to perfection with wonderfully blended thai flavors. All of the appetizers we had were very tasty especially theveggie roll with mango sauce. The most standout aspect was the service, they were outstanding! Read more

We had a reservation at 8:30 pm for the Instagram table. We (party of 6) arrived 5 minutes early and were told that there... another party at that table. However, at 8:45 pm they asked us to take another table because the previous party hadn't left. They only have 2 time slots for the Instagram table 6pm and 8:30pm. We especially booked that table that means we were their toexperience that, why would you ask us to take another table. The party sitting at that table was not even using the Instagramlights. We were obviously hungry and feeling badly treated. The manager was spoke very rudely to my friend and the hostess wasalso very rude. At 9:05pm we were finally seated. My friend was badly affected by their behavior and left before the foodarrived. The waitress serving us was friendly and the Instagram lights were fun to play with. The food was mediocre at best andI would definitely not recommend the poutine style potatoes. I have had better steak as well. We had ordered a medium steak andreceived a medium rare. The Mac and cheese was really good. After we were done, the waitress who was clearing up had anextremely exasperated look on her face. She was very clearly not happy to be working there. I definitely would not recommendthis place to anyone. I am giving two stars for 1. The Mac and cheese, 2. The lights and 3. They had the courtesy to take a fewthings off the bill. However, you can most definitely save yourself the hassle of dealing with rude staff and get the sameeffect with filters. Read more

High quality of service is the simplest way to sum up the experience. The bread that was served was so crisp on the outside and... yet it wasn't too dry on the inside. Afterwards my appetizers arrived the Calamari and the Roasted Bone Marrow. The Calamari wasmade well and portion correctly. It was not oily at all and came with a tangy sauce and what appeared to be mayo. The RoastedBone marrow was a bit difficult to eat because there wasn't a utensil that could comfortably dig out the marrow itself. Themarrow paired well with the jelly on top of the toasted bread. I definitely recommend it, however, bone marrow has a uniquetaste and texture that not everyone will enjoy. Afterwards our entrees arrived. I ordered 14 oz Prime Rib Eye Steak mediumrare. My girlfriend had ordered the 8 oz Filet Mignon medium rare. Its important to note her order was from the Steak Fritesportion so it came with Arugula and fries. However they offered me fries too and I accepted. Just clarifying in case othersorder the 14 oz Steak and are surprised at the lack of fries. The Steaks were cooked as we asked and needed no refiring. Theyalso arrived after we finished our appetizers so it was well timed. Sauce for the steak only portion is an extra 3$ but theSteak Frites portions do come with some sauce. Both Steak were delicious, with nice shading on the cross section. We alsoordered a twice baked potato which after the main entrees we realized was a mistake because of the how filling the steaks werealong with the appetizers but we did try it. The bits of potato chip were nice to have in the baked potato and the bits of meatwere well paired with the potato itself. Be warned this baked potato is big! The environment is well suited for close knitgroups and romantic dates. However there is a bar area if you're dining alone or with clients. The waiter was attentive andaccommodating. I don't think I could have asked anymore from a restaurant. All in all I would definitely recommend Bost Read more

Great service except for the server who questioned us when we shared that the steak ordered rare came medium well. She asked if... we could cut it open so she could check, except that the steak was already cut down the middle… then asked what we'd like youdo about it? If you're thinking of coming here to enjoy the chops, please consider going elsewhere. I came in expecting astellar dining experience but left underwhelmed. Read more
