Amazing Italian food. The restaurant offers all the classic Italian dishes. Didn’t notice anything very unique to the place... but all we ordered was excellent. Price is fair specially considering it’s in a very touristic area. The place is not that bigand gets full quickly. Make sure to make a reservation beforehand. Excellent, friendly service, charming north end ambience. The pasta dishes are world class, but I was a bit disappointed by the... vinegar, peppers, and potatoes. The salami board is fantastic and enough for a table of four. Priced as you would expect for theneighborhood. Reservations highly recommended. Read more
We had a great experience in this place! We ended up here just randomly, we had 2 strollers (with kids sleeping) and we were... turned away by a couple of places because of it. But we came to this amazing place and they changed our day! They moved theirtables and made us fit. When my daughter woke up, while I was trying to get her out, they helped me move the stroller away andrapidly brought a chair for her to sit. We totally felt welcomed and were able to really enjoy our time. The food was great!Fresh pasta and everything very tasty, the waiter was very busy but still tried to be nice and friendly with the kids. Portionslooked big so we just ordered a bunch of appetizers and pasta to share and without even asking they brought us big plates.Overall it wasn’t just a meal it was a very nice experience. I was really hoping to leave a wonderful review, unfortunately, we had a rather disheartening evening. The hostess was very... lovely. We had a reservation, so we were seated right away. Once we were seated, we waited for about roughly 20 min until a tallgentleman walked to our table and just blurted “You ready?” We were taken by surprise, but we shrugged it off. It was aSaturday, we understand it can be chaotic. Unfortunately, the rest of the night did not get any better. The gentlemancontinuously sighed very loudly when we had a question, and even rolled his eyes when we mispronounced the name of the dishes.He continued to do this when we were trying to inquire about wine recommendations, and even walked away mid-sentence. I lookedaround at other tables and it didn’t seem like he was treating anyone else the same way. He was having regular conversations;smiling, laughing, and making eye contact. The waiter never came back to our table after he set down our main course. He nevercame by to check in with us, to offer any water or condiments/cheese on our pasta. (A different table had the same pasta andthey were offered cheese by the same gentleman.) I tried to flag him down a few times. We made eye contact, but he quicklylooked away and came back only to drop off the check. He didn’t even say anything, just simply dropped it off and walkedaway. I came to Bencotto on a recent road trip of New England with friends from out of state. We didn't have many set plans in Boston,... but decided to try Bencotto. The first night we tried, they had a line out the door and were packed. After talking to a verynice, but clearly busy host, he explained that their online booking service hadn't allowed them to adjust capacity due to covidrestrictions and moving to indoor only seating (this was Nov 21 so hopefully that's been fixed). So, understanding, we made areservation for the second night. It was worth the wait, we even opted to sit at the bar because by that point the smell of thefood while we were waiting outside was driving us crazy haha Every single thing was delicious, full of flavor and unique toppingcombinations. Perfectly thin crust and the right proportions of sauce and cheese. Next time I'm in town I'll make a reservationin advance and not risk missing out on going here again. Read more
The lobster ravioli was quite disappointing. I looked forward to it all week because of the good reviews but it ultimately was... bland and I couldn’t taste much lobster. I’ve definitely had better lobster ravioli at other restaurants. However the friedcalamari and bruschetta were good! My fork also was dirty so I had to request a new one but the ambiance was nice and so was thestaff. Read more
I came here with some friends for a 6:30 reservation on a Saturday. I expected to wait a little bit and it was fine, nice night.... We didn’t ended up getting sat until 7:30! The food was tasty but I don’t think I could endure the mental games of waitingfor over an hour for a res at a pretty average restaurant. try the piccata though Read more
