I order from Al's for a staff lunch, and its hard to know where to begin. The staff were all so kind, responsive, professional... and easy to work with. The food was amazing. We were trying to accommodate numerous food restrictions, and we were able toeasily find delicious options on the menu. They were also very generous in their serving sizes. We went with the smaller of the2 sandwich options and staff were splitting them in half, and saving more for later! My favorite part was the bread, oh mygoodness! It was so delicious I ended up emailing the staff after the event asking about their bread. It turns out they bake itfresh , in their store: YOU CAN TELL. It was amazing, and the fresh ingredients generously proportioned made it a perfect lunch. If I lived in Boston I would be there weekly for lunch! This place is a must-eat!!! Read more

One of the better "bang-for-your-buck" lunch spots in Downtown Boston. Great sandwiches, both hot and cold, for around $8. If... you want to go here, try to go BEFORE 11:30. This place is fantastic AND cheap, therefore extremely popular. If you wander inat 12:30, get ready to stand in a big line. But even if you do get stuck in the line, they crank out sandwiches like youwouldn't believe, you won't be wanting too long. There are two sizes of sandwiches: small and large. You only need a smallsandwich for lunch, it's plenty of food. The BBQ sandwich is great, as well as the chicken pesto. If you like buffalo chicken, you can't go wrong with the Ariana. Read more

I ran into Al?s for the first time in Harvard Square not knowing what a lunch phenom it would become. This location in Boston is... the veritable lunch sandwich Mecca for your choice of hot or cold subs, chips, and drinks. Even a small sub could feed a grownhairy man for 2 days. Lots of meat and lots of bread. While the subs are not a knock out, they pretty satisfying and heapsbetter than Jimmy Johns. What is the best about Al?s is that the cold and hot sandwiches have different lines. So it?s superefficient for those who need to get in and out. Yeah, it?s the ultimate in lunch stops. They?re friendly too, despite the pace.If you?re in the mood for a quick, satisfying sub that will feed two grown hairy men, there?s Al?s. If your drunk need to forgetthat last 24 hours, including what you ate, there?s Jimmy Johns. Read more
