There were 6 in our party. We were there celebrating birthdays, anniversary and Father's day. Our waiter was very friendly. It... took all of us a little longer to decide our meal choices and he was very patient. Appetizers were ordered and delivered in atimely manner. We finally decided on entrees and our chef came within a few minutes to start our meals. We did have to ask forour salads and soup. The show and food was very good. My disappointment was at the end of the cooking show, I was expecting thepineapple boat for our celebration but all we got was a single candle being lite. The food was good and the waitress did a great job even though there were almost 20 of us. The two chefs were great and very... entertaining. Highly recommended. Edit as of 4/29/21 The quality of the food has went down significantly. Our waitress Bethanywas either having a hard time that night or was just not good at her job. We had to repeatedly ask for refills and I had to getup to get ice for my wife. The other members of our party had to ask for refills as well. She was almost non-existent. My wifeand I had our own check and we still were charged an 18% gratuity. I know that it is common practice to charge a gratuity onparties of 8 or more, but Bethany didn't deserve close to that. My daughter had the teriyaki steak and it looked like shavedbeef or a chopped minute steak. The only good thing about the evening was the chef. He was funny, entertaining, and skilled athis job. He made the evening. Bethany should get more training or stop waiting tables. Also, the automatic 18% gratuity is a badidea, especially for a server as poor as we had. The surf and turf my wife ordered was great though. Edit as of 4/28/22 We havemade our last trip to Shogun. We literally had to wait an hour and a half before the chef came out because they wereunderstaffed even though we had a reservation. The waitstaff looks like they are on work release from Angola Penitentiary.Between the jailhouse tattoos, multi-colored hair and non-existent service, the whole experience was horrible. Our chef was goodwhen he finally was able to get to our table. I felt sorry for him because I could tell that he was stretched too thin. Therestaurant itself was filthy and the walls were dirty and beat up. The overall experience was nowhere near the price. Had it notbeen my daughter's birthday, we would've left after 30 minutes.
