My husband and I were in the area so decided to give them a try. We ordered three different meats along with two sides and extra... ribs. The BBQ is served on the side which is nice if you don?t want sauce or prefer your own. Our meal came with a piece ofcornbread. All of the meats were incredibly dried out which was incredibly disappointing. We got the brisket, pulled pork, andribs. The Mac and cheese was good but the baked beans I couldn?t eat because they were full of onions which I can?t eat. Thesides were also really small considering we got 3 orders of meat. Giving 1 Star due to the fact all the meats were dried out,the sides were small, the beans contained onions, and the cornbread was also dried out. Cute smoke shack, amazingly friendly and polite staff, a little on the pricey side and the food was not that great. Got the 2... meats and 2 sides. The brisket was beyond dry and no flavor other than the smoke. Ribs were very moist, fall off the bone butagain no flavor other than the natural smoke flavor when smoking meat. When I go to a BBQ place, I want BBQ and not a blandpiece of meat with absolutely nothing in it. Yes, there was BBQ sauce on the side but I want it cooked on the ribs along withother seasoning. The mac and cheese was mushy and very bland as well. Corn bread was so dry and tasted a few days old. Hushpuppies were so over cooked, you couldn't eat them (rock hard and just about black in color). I've seen and been to realsouthern smoked BBQ places and I'm sorry to say, you should be ashamed to say it's southern BBQ. The south would be extremelydisappointed. Maybe you should give customers options if they want their food dry or smoked with BBQ sauce, but please seasonthe meats. This place is good, staff is friendly, serving portions are American sized. I think they own their own pigs, since there is a... stinky building a quarter mile downwind, and you can see the smoker outside the Smoke Shake from the road. A large ice creamcone is gigantic and required a cup to carry the top half home. There is one weakness, which is the food flavoring. The fullrack fell off the bone, but didn't seem to be cooked with any strong flavor. The sauce was a bit runny, but works well on theCajun fries. There are spicy options on the menu, but my order seemed a bit like BBQ for people who don't like BBQ. I'm glad tohave something relatively local, but I can't give it five stars. I really want to like this place because I love BBQ and it is so close to my home. I will definitely give them another try but... my first experience wasn?t great. I ordered the two meat plate and while the brisket was good (it?s very dry but I like to addmy own sauce so no complaints about it) the pulled chicken was not good. Almost every single bite had a bone in it or some weirdgristle bits. I was literally pulling bones out of my mouth. Also my sides were not great. The chicken tender plate was alsoexpensive for chicken you could basically get at any other generic restaurant for much cheaper. All in all, it was okay. Read more
