Reviews for Carlee's in Borrego Springs, CA
Was in Borrego Springs for a race with a bunch of friends and had several great meals at Carlee's. Most of them were great. The... burgers and veggie burgers were a hit with the crew, and so were the avocado tuna salad and Reuben sandwich. The one thing thatI regretted buying was the pasta with steak. Neither the pasta not steak were really good. Overall this place is a quaint placewhere I felt everyone was welcome. There were kids, adolescents and elderly people, visibly queer people and the straight crowdtoo... A great melting pot of people who were passing by, riding their motorcycles in, or meeting their friends there to have adrink or play pool. It's the kind of pub I imagine lots of small towns rely on for community. It was delightful. Read more
Ate there twice this past week and enjoyed everything about Carlees. The service was A++. Very attentive staff. Both meals were... very good- 1/2 rack ribs and the meat fell off the bone. Shrimp basket next and easily another meal because they don't skimp.Reminded of that bar/restaurant in the neighborhood where all the locals go. Entertainment also. Fun place. Read more
It's a local hang out bar. They offer pool, large menu selection and it's very free seating so meet your neighbors. Food took an... hour which wasn't ideal and it was a bit too salty for me but it's a local bar. Locals are very friendly. Read more
Great find in Borrego Springs. This place has a extensive menu offering something for everyone. The staff was super friendly... and great at answering menu questions and making great recommendations when ordering. The food was great, especially for theprice and serving sizes. Drinks were well made and reasonably priced. The offer outdoor dining in a patio area if you want totake in some fresh desert air. It is well worth a try if you are staying in the area or just passing through. Read more
LOTS of veggie options, all noted in the menu with green text. I had the veggie grinder which was amazing, along with very... crispy fries and an extra side of homemade chips. A great stop if you're in the Anza Borrego park! Read more
We went to Borrego Springs for hiking and found this place for a friend recommendation. We all order burgers, some soft drinks... and a beer. The burgers were not that good, in fact we order "medium well" and got them "well done" Salvador was our serverand he was the best!! The place is not that nice, but cost like some burgers in the Cheesecake Factory! Read more
The beating heart of this sleepy, desert town has some legit good food. We spent a weekend in the small Town of Borrego Springs.... Aiming to have quiet, relaxing weekend at our Airbnb with a pool and some hot weather, we quickly realized that this town isanything but dead. We kept running in to nice locals and had some great meals in town and when it came to dinner, weconsistently were recommended one place. Carlee's. We phoned in an order on a Saturday night and picked it up about 7:30. Firstthing I noticed about this place was how BUSY it was. For sleepy little desert town, this restaurant/bar was wide awake. Theremay have been one or two empty seats in the whole place and while we waited for them to finish the food, at least 3 other foodorders were picked up and taken out. Staff was nice, friendly and we're hustling to take care of everyone. I love to see whenplaces like this have staff that really care and hustle to take care of their guests. We got our food and went back to thehouse. I was impressed by almost all the food. The chili was delicious and seasoned well, the tequila chicken pasta was loadedwith chicken and yellow bell peppers and had a freshness too it I wasn't expecting. The chili cheese fries were solid and alwaysgo great with their homemade ranch and the philly cheese steak was legit. Something I loved, but nobody else in my family liked, was the cowboy bites. Corn, cheese and bacon rolled into a bite sized fritter and deep fried. Crazy good! The food here tasteshomemade and isn't as greasy and heavy as what you would normally get from a place like this. Even the chicken tenders tastedhomemade and we're pretty impressive. We loved our time in Borrego Springs and really enjoyed the local sculptures, sunsets andrestaurants. If your looking for the beating heart of this town on the weekend, even in the summer for what is called their "offseason", Carlee's must be the place to go. I would've really loved to dine in at this place as it seeme Read more
