Good guys to talk to when ordering, friendly personalities. Food portions are big, if you leave hungry it's your own fault. ... Great spot to eat, have a variety of hot sub style sandwiches, pizza, fries and more. Read more
Pier 1 is two things a dive bar and pizza place. The dive bar/sports bar is pretty solid. Decent selection of beers, tv and par... games. It has a great vibe and even had mug club. Everything you want in a dive like sports bar. It is connected to its sisterpizza spot. The pizza is just ok. But it is satisfying and they have a ton of toppings for your choice. I wasn?t too encouragedby the by the slice selection. It is advertised as open late but on a Friday it was packing it in around 9? Read more

If you can only visit one place in BoothBay Harbor, make it PIER 1 PIZZA and PUB! We were visiting from Shelton, Washington and... just happened to drop in to the pub for a beer. Within minutes, We felt like regulars. Cory and Harry offered us popcorn andlocal insight, even traded a few jabs about Super Bowl XLIX, (Patriots beat Seattle on a last second interception.) The more wehad to drink, the better friends we became. As more people began to arrive we were introduced as if we were old friends.Catherine and Winter kept our drinks flowing and the conversation lively. Before long, we got hungry for clam chowder, andasked where we might find a good restaurant. In minutes Cory produced two bowls of the best chowder we've ever eaten. I think itwas made specially for us by the kitchen staff. The perfect blend of all ingredients and clams. After that, we were treated toslices of their signature "Big 20 Inch" thin crust pizza. WOW! It made other pizzas seem bland, especially when somebody puthoney, (yes HONEY,) on top of the delicilus peperoni. What an incredible taste experience. As we got into the shank of theevening, I remember telling jokes, singing, trading clothing, (?), listening to stories about community pride and comradeship, and wishing that we could spend a lot more time with these extrodinary people. When you visit BoothBay Harbor, please stop byPier 1 and tell them Ed and Nancy sent you. Tell them your first drink is on me, and that I said to put it on my tab. Read more
