Reviews for HarborSide 1901Bar and Grill in Boothbay Harbor, ME
We had a wonderful lobster dinner. The filet mignon was cooked perfectly. The desserts are incredible. The Maine Blueberry... Lemonade was delicious. If you have only one night, as we did, don?t miss the opportunity to eat here! Read more
Decided to grab dinner during a visit in the area. A very nice surprise during a busy season. We arrived early enough to snag a... window table and enjoy harbor views at sunset. The staff was accommodating, friendly and attentive. The menu selection offers anice variety of dishes and we found our meal very satisfying. Would stop here again when in the area. Read more
We ate at this restaurant as a last minute choice. We arrived at 5PM so getting a table with a view was not a problem. Our... server, Memo, was very attentive and friendly. We each had soup. The lobster bisque did not taste at all like lobster (more liketomato soup) and had hard chewy veggies, celery and carrots. The clam chowder was tasty but served lukewarm. We each had thespecial, grilled halibut over mushroom risotto and grilled asparagus. What a disappointment! The fish was over cooked, very dryand no taste. The risotto was good as the grilled asparagus. This entree was $50. Definitely not worth the price! We each had aglass of wine, so there was no problem with the drinks. We shared a dessert, white chocolate cheesecake for $14, a coffee andliquor. Total bill was almost $200 before gratuity. I've spent that much at finer restaurants where the food tasted much better.I'm not sure if we will return for a second try, maybe if we just got sushi or salads would have been a better choice. We tried this restaurant, excited for the fresh seafood and harbor views. We ordered the seafood tower, oysters, edamame, and... two cocktails to start, planning to share a main course. The staff was friendly, but the food was bland and cocktails werewatered down. The seafood tower was small and did not taste fresh, most of the mussels were served fully shut, and the oystersweren?t shucked properly with shell in each bite. We came to Maine for the fresh seafood, but we?re forcing this down. Wedecided to go elsewhere for our main course, and walked away hungry with a $175 bill, $210 with tip. This restaurant felt alittle like a tourist trap. We would recommend the nearby Boathouse Bistro for delicious tapas style plates, better views, andmore reasonable pricing. Ports of Italy is another great choice in the area with terrific seafood and handmade pasta. Read more
We were in town visiting friends that are lifelong Boothbay locals and they brought us here. We had a fantastic experience and... it was our first time trying oysters! Our hosts told us they were the best of the best and they were excellent. The poke bowlwas so fresh and full of flavor. My husband got the salmon entree and loved it. All in all a great experience. The BEST service I've had in a long time. Everyone from the host, bussers, servers, and bartenders are genuinely vested in... ensuring that the guest (not customer) has a fantastic experience. The food is great and the desserts are NOT to be missed.Shout-out to Memo and Maria for making our 6 experiences memorable. Should have added the sushi chef, chef, line cooks, anddishwashers. You should not be forgotten. ???? Read more
