We were very lucky to happen upon this Greek restaurant while we were in Boone for vacation. The food was top-notch - hands down... the best Greek we've ever had. Every dish was amazing and I would highly recommend the sampler platter and the baklava. Theowner took the time to talk to us and he was awesome as well. We love the atmosphere here. It is a family owned and operated real Greek food restaurant and they serve you plenty of delicious... food. This is our second time eating here and we?ve had the spanokopita gyro, the lamb gyro, the hummus and pita appetizer,falafel a la carte, and the sampler platter. The baklava servings are huge and the spice cake servings are huge also. All foodis fresh made by the owners. Come try this place. You will not regret it !! Read more
This is the Best Greek Food I?ve ever had! Over the years I realize that I?ve eaten in Greek restaurants in Atlanta, Charlotte,... New Jersey and New York and all of them were special but to find The High Country Greek within a mile of our Airbnb in Boone wasa wonderful discovery. I would advise people to use Google Maps because there are no flashing signs to mark the spot. To thecontrary there is just one small blue yard sign at the entrance to the Deer Valley Athletic Club. We got the sampler platterand loved everything on it. We also got the Baklava which was So Good we tried to get more before leaving but sadly, for us,they are closed on Sunday. The only negative thing I have to say about my experience is that I waited too long to try them out. I will definitely be back... many times in the future. Everything was fantastic. The lamb gyro was delicious, fries were fresh crispy and perfectly seasoned,the staff was friendly, and the portions are ample especially for the price. I can't wait to try the baklava, I was so full Ihad to bring it home with me. Looks too good to pass up though. This place is the true definition of a hidden gem. Read more

I would normally give a 5 star, but todays take out had me drop rating due to the salad. Lots of pieces of brown lettuce in both... our orders and did not taster very fresh. The gyro was very good as always, just please use fresher lettuce in your salads,whether dine in or take out. If we had dined in, we would have asked for a new salad.
