The prime rib is soft and juicy. The part I like most is the crust meat outside and inside tender in one bite. However not every... bite is like that. The seasoning is not salty and sometimes need to add salt by myself. The chowder is full of clam flavor.Chili is also good and flavorful. I like these 2 soups very much Read more

Tonight's Prime Rib: I have sampled Prime Rib from England to the USA. The standard for first prize is the House of Prime Rib,... San Francisco. Tonight's prime rib dinner at Lock Stock and Barrel, BEAT THAT! Congratulations to the Rotesseurs (Frenchterm) who have made top grade. Read more

Alrighty...tried this place for the first time. Great atmosphere. There was a band playing which was cool. The tables were set... nice when we sat down. There were glasses on the table. Both of our glasses had lip prints on them. Yuck. Our waitress quicklygot us new glasses. We asked for recommendations. Our waitress suggested the barrel steak and the mozzarella filet. We wentwith those. They have a salad bar with soup you get with your order. The salad bar was okay. Nothing spectacular. But, we werethere for the steaks! The food presentation was good. I had the horseradish mashed potatoes with the barrel steak and my hubbyhad the scalloped potatoes with the filet. The barrel steak was a top sirloin (not my normal go to) and I had it cooked medium. It came out perfect. But...it was so dang tough! I had mushrooms put on top for $3.99 and it was not worth it. The mozzarellatopped filet was ordered medium rare and it was cooked perfectly. It was actually REALLY good. The price is spendy, which iffine for a good steak. There just wasn't a wow factor with these steaks. Our waitress was top notch! It was fun to try outonce. Read more

Please forgive me, Boise, for never having visited before. This seems to be a local institution loved by many. Looks like a TGI... Fridays, with the clientele to match, but top notch home cooking. Really not inventive, but great quality meat and sides. Pricesto match, mind you. Not having grown up in the US, I like to dress for the occasion (and budget), so I didn't enjoy thecasualness personally, but you might. Live music on weekends is excellent. Alas, not a mask in sight, not even on the (supercheerful) staff, a risky proposition when so crowded. Read more

I have traveled extensively and would definitely put Lock Stock and Barrel's Prime Rib in my top 5. A pound of clams in a... delicious broth for an appetizer and a great choice of salads including a soup and salad bar. I didn't realize how important asalad bar is until I posted one in CT and received over million view! The service was great and and did not miss a beat! If youare ever in Boise, stop in the LS&B and it will not disappoint. If you are on a budget, go to happy hour from 4 to 6 for $7.50sliders, $8 prime rib Swiss dip and discounted beer wine and cocktails. Read more

First time here.. service was nice, food was good but not mind-blowing, and the price was a bit steep (as expected). Perhaps 3... out of 5 stars is being a bit stingy, but I guess I'm a victim of past experience.. I've been to restaurants of this caliberthat were more impressive. A second look may improve this score, one that I'd be willing to give them. Read more

Goodness gracious this place was amazing. Sat in the bar and had a cocktail before dinner. Ordered the Crab and Artichoke Dip... along side our cocktails. Man that was tasty. For dinner we both knew we wanted the Prime Rib. I went for the 16oz cut andwifey had the 11oz cut. Needless to say we have some leftovers. If you crave meat.....get yourself here NOW! Read more
