Having been a food service worker myself, I hate leaving bad reviews for restaurants, especially Cafe Rio since it?s usually... great, but today I feel I have no choice. I?ve been coming to Cafe Rio for years (at least since 2015-2016) and the food isgreat, but you guys are really starting to skimp out on the portions. When I first started going it was not only cheaper but theburritos would nearly fill the entire platter; it was more than enough food. Now not only have the prices increased (which isunderstandable), the deals have gotten worse, and the portions are way smaller. Today my burrito filled not even half theplatter, which is extremely disappointing considering it cost nearly $13 which is more than most fast food burritos cost; I?vegotten bigger burritos for maybe $7-8. Please do better next time as I don?t like to give my money to places that don?t give memy money?s worth. Read more
I usually really like Cafe Rio and eat at the Franklin location quite a bit. Decided to get a pickup order from this location... since it was on my way home. They were out of horchata and the lemonade looked dirty. I should have checked my order but was ina hurry. When I got to work and opened it was the wrong meat and no sauce, not even on the side. The blandest quesedilla ever, Idon't even think the chicken was salted and I had ordered barbacoa pork. Read more
Cafe Rio is super good I have to admit. However, I feel bad because my experience was less than stellar and not the employees... fault. Went for lunch a few days back, and they were so understaffed it took absolutely forever. Multiple people in line justended up leaving. There was only 1 gal working the entire line and a few people in the back with headphones on doing prep. Poorgirl was absolutely being ran ragged. The line was an absolute mess because she was trying to get everything through so fast. Ifelt terrible for her. The food didn't quite have that "fresh" taste I was expecting. Very nice that this place is open past 8pm we needed a place to eat before attending a concert downtown at the knitting factory... and we?re successful! The restaurant itself wasn?t super clean there was clutter here and there and there weren?t a lot ofcustomers at the time which was nice, we didn?t have to wait. The SERVICE though on the other hand was sublime. The young manwho took our order was extremely kind, patient and helpful. His name is IAN and if I was able to leave feedback to management Iwould definitely recommend promoting this employee so he sticks around! Customer Service like this is what keeps restaurantscompetitive and in business. The other employee was nice too that checked us out and took our payment. We ordered a porkburrito which was very good (I consumed it in its entirety, and my partner ordered a quesadilla. The fountain drink area is niceand offered Italian soda flavors which is unique. Came at the end of the day. Steak was delicious and plentiful on my tacos! Workers seemed super tired and made me wonder if... they worked all day! They moved pretty slowly. My husband asked if they actually closed at 10:15 and they said they have triedto change it forever and that they close at 9. I got on google and suggested an edit along with a picture of the hours. My mobile order was 55 minutes past the promised time. My salad was nothing but shredded lettuce, none of the correct toppings,... and nowhere near the cafe Rio standard awesomeness. All of the quesadillas were cold and hard as a rock. Love love love Cafe Rioand will definitely be back?just not to this location. $50 down the drain. Kids won?t touch the quesadillas. 12/8 This location is better but still has room for improvement. Had nearly 1/4 cup of liquid floating around in the foil... container with my two tacos making the tortillas all soggy. Really ruined the taco experience for me. Bumping them up to 3 starsfor now. Was so excited for a Cafe Rio to open at this location. Unfortunately, this location just keeps getting worse insteadof better. No energy, no communication, and no cooperation between staff. Food quality is bad - brown and yellow cilantro on mysalad and not just a little, a LOT and lettuce looked old. Terrible organization for call in orders. Had a lot of people waitingand there was very little foot traffic. Owner/manager needs to take a serious look at this location and address the morale,training and food quality issues if they want to stay in business. Read more
For fast Mexican food its pretty tasty. I like the taco Tuesday special. Sometimes though it can be hit and miss. When it is... good it is real good. Sometimes I've been unhappy with the service. Tortilla's are homemade and winners. Read more
