Went to brunch this morning, the food and service were pretty good. I wanted to comment on the fact that my daughter couldn't... bring home the 3/4 of her waffle that she didn't eat. It was confirmed by the waitress that it would get thrown in the garbageif it wasent eaten. I understand the rules of a buffet and not allowing togo boxes. But if majority of a Belgium waffle is leftover, we should be able to take it home. It's Bal Tashcus to throw it out. It's such a waste. The only reason to patronize a fine eating establishment is to enjoy really good food, and a pleasant ambience. With that, one... expects excellent service, clean restrooms, and attention to detail. Afterall TIPS is an acrostic for "To Insure ProperService." Carmela's does have great food. Outside, at the back of the restaurant, there's a lovely patio with an adjacent waterfountain. Today's all you can eat buffet ($30 per adult, $15 per child) had a large selection of pastas, delicious batteredhalibut, lox, made to order omelets, salads, and waffles. The food could have been kept warmer, however, had the serving coversremained on. The restrooms could have been a bit tidier, and the washing station could have included single sheet paper towelsto dry one's hands. And, I wish I didn't have to ask twice for my coffee. Read more
The food. Just wow. As delicious as it was presented. Second only to the pleasant welcome from the staff. The location is great... and parking is convenient. The space is convenient for independent study as well as small group meetings. Highlyrecommend. 8/25 - came back again today. Same amazing experience. We have come to this Kosher restaurant for over 6 months and if clearly our fave! It is one of the exemplary Kosher restaurants... in Boca that has captured our attention! Service excellent ????cleanliness ??selections ??food quality????so unusual as theprevious restaurant in its location was good for brunch but not as consistent! Keep it up and we?ll keep coming! I'm visiting from NJ. I came to this place under the prior management and wasn't such a big fan. I decided to give it another... shot now that it's Carmela's and under new management. I'm so glad I did because the new manager and our waiter, Juan, werenothing but an absolute pleasure. And having saved the best for last, the food is absolutely phenomenal. This restaurant is somewhat in chaos when it comes to service. The Chef has still a lot to learn, theres plenty of room for... improvement. The truth is that many dishes and sauces are too salty; e.g. we had a creamy spinach dish changed 3 times to noavail because of excessive salt ( back in January 2021.) I hope by now they've learned their lesson. Let's see next time. A muchneeded better service would earn a better rating - it is our hope (September 2021). Read more
What a great experience. The food was fabulous, tasty with depths of flavor, and nicely presented. This is the sushi pizza made... from crispy rice, absolutely wonderful! The other dish is the creamy Salmon penne very savory. It would be five stars if theinterior had a bit more character it's tasteful but bland and little separation between the tables. The automatic service charge(for a party of four) was also a bit unconventional. Read more
I really like the ambiance of Carmela?s? I just wish the food was as good. We had the pizza and sweet potatoes fries. The pizza... was really underwhelming with just the taste of tomato sauce and burnt oven. The fries tasted good. The staff was really sweetas well as our server. There was definitely a lot of people there but they space it out well so it?s not that crazy. Read more
