If you're looking for a fresh and tasty bite away from the bustle of main street Blowing Rock, Grilled Cheese Cafe is a must... stop! It's tucked away in its own courtyard, which is perfect during COVID, and there wasn't an hour wait to get seated forlunch. The owners are delightful and put so much heart into each sandwich they make. It's truly inspired grilled cheese. I hadthe regular French and my friend had the gluten free version. Both were so tasty with a complex flavor profile built with brie,gruyere, provolone, arugula, pear, and fig preserves. Be sure to stop by and experience grilled cheese like you never havebefore! Delicious, had the "french" version : grilled brie w fig spread. Will be back to try other offerings. Also, was much more... convenient than waiting for a restaurant table or takeout as we walked around town. ( It's peak leaf viewing season, so mainstreet is crowded w tourists right now.) Read more
This is an excellent outdoor cafe, in an absolutely beautiful area of Blowing Rock. A peaceful patio to eat on, by a gorgeous... flower garden and fountain, it's an ideal setting. The food is absolutely top notch, and the staff are so nice everytime, withon point service. 12/10 would recommend this to any of my cheese loving friends!!!!! Can't wait for my next bite! Read more
While this small cafe is nestled off the beaten path in a quaint mall with an outdoor setting, it was a bit lacking for my... taste. An entire menu dedicated to grill cheese sandwiches sounds great right? Well, in this instance, not so much. The choicesmay sound fun on the menu, but the flavors were lacking. My girlfriend and I tried the Italian Grilled Cheese and were leftdisappointed. The cheese was not melted, the bread was a bit hard and it was not worth the cost of the sandwiches. The waittime for the sandwiches was about 12 minutes (my girlfriend timed it... She likes doing that for some unknown reason) and wewere the only people there. The staff is very pleasant, but overall an under-par experience compared to some of the otherrestaurants in the area. Read more
Unbelievable sandwiches! Every time we're in Blowing Rock my son insists we get his favorite grilled cheese sandwich. Plus the... panini sandwiches are outstanding as well for those wanting a bit more. Nice outdoor seating area and really good food! Read more
This place is a hidden gem! Everything was so simple but delicious it was awesome finding a chill place off the beaten path and... we could enjoy our lunch in the fresh air! I ordered the Greek and my husband got the American. The Greek was super deliciouswith the feta and olive combo the flavors just meshed really well with a salty and meaty tang. The American was a classicgrilled cheese just done super well. The bread was delicious and perfectly toasted and perfectly stood up to the warm gooeyinsides without falling apart. The accoutrements and flag decorations were the perfect addition it was so cute! We'lldefinitely come back next time we're in the area! Read more
This was just right - a quick gourmet sandwich at an unassuming little outdoor seating spot tucked in the back of a cute village... of shoppes. Please, do yourself a huge favor and try the French - Brie, Gruyère, Provolone, arugula, sliced pear, and figpreserves. My. Goodness. Read more
