The food was good and the margaritas were just ok. What really frustrated us was the horrible service we received!! We waited... about 20 minutes for someone to even acknowledge us then had to wait for someone to take our order. Then the appetizers showedup the same time that our main dish did. Margaritas showed up after that. After we were done eating we waited a long time forwaiter to come back. We finally asked another employee f they could get our waiter so we could pay for our meal. Really liked this place, nice vibe inside! The food was really good and filling. Had the guacamole and salsa, American taco,... Baja fish, and fried avocado! Mexican food superstar of Bloomington (so I hear). They can make any dish vegetarian by substituting black beans or impossible... for the protein. Nice variety of dishes. Read more

I finally tried Social Cantina after being really resistant to the price. It is on the high end for me, but they do deliver on... taste. They give an excellent sized portion of guacamole, and the chips were delicious and fresh. I got two tacos; Ahi Tuna,without the mango, and the Shrimp Verde. Of the two, I preferred the Ahi Tuna just because I thought the spice level wasperfect, whereas the habanero crema on the shrimp was just a tad too spicy for my taste. Great atmosphere for dinner and drinks with friends. The tacos are good but my favorite thing to get are the chicken enchiladas.... The chicken is flavored perfectly and the rice and beans were not traditional but still tasted good. Always start with the chipand dip flight, the guacamole, queso, green salsa, and mango habanero are my four choices for dips. If beer is your thing theyoffer some of the Tap beers on draft. Read more
Cool space! As we initially walked by, I saw a group eating nachos on the patio. That dish looked so good, we circled back and... ordered those and some margs! It was a very delicious meal! We appreciated the very attentive staff, too. Read more
