This lovely place raises the standards for delicious pasta. It?s really hard to impress me with pasta but they go above and... beyond. I crave a good vodka sauce and theirs is the best around. Plus they maintain some creativity with dishes like a trufflecream sauce with hot honey salmon. Favorite apps are spinach artichoke dip and bruschetta. I typically go on a weekday and thereisn?t too long of a wait. Place always looks popular and jumping. Whoever is behind these recipes deserves a high-five. Wonderful experience! We visited at a slower time (4p) on a Saturday and had a great time. Server (Seth B) was fantastic,... offered small samples of some of the beers they offered as my husband was unsure if he'd like them. Highly recommend the Gumballbeer. We only did drinks and an appetizer but both were 10/10. The appetizer was the Il Fromagio (pictured) with french bread.The tomato sauce was well balanced with pesto and goat cheese. Could honestly bathe in it, it was so good! Quick service, goodfood, and a down-to-earth waiter made this visit a memorable one. Will most definitely be back for more! Read more
I've been blessed to visit Italy twice in the past year and Da Vinci's Pizza is the most authentic Italian pizza I've had in... Bloomington (and possibly the US). I highly recommend the pizza and the calzone was good (I tried some of my daughter's). Thepistachio cake had a gentle, pleasant flavor and my husband's dessert (pictured - Tartufo) was very good. The Italian wine Ihad was a buoyant, mild red compared to a Chianti Classico. I like red wine, but I typically prefer a Muscato, and this was anice glass of wine. Read more
This restaurant is actually very good! Food was amazing and I was impressed by the vegan options! I have to say the service was... a bit lackluster. I asked the server if she could ask the kitchen staff if the bruschetta was vegan and she outright refusedwhich was super frustrating. I ended up figuring it out that the bruschetta was vegan. I would?ve given the restaurant 5 starsbut this encounter made me uncomfortable with the establishment. I?m willing to give it another try as long as I don?t have thesame server! I was excited to try Da Vinci since I had heard a lot of positive things. The service started out well and we had drinks and... appetizers within just a few minutes. As others customers left and the restaurant became emptier, service seemed to diminish.The wait for the entrees seemed excessive but perhaps our order was forgotten or there was a rush of takeout. When the maincourse arrived the plates were beautiful but underwhelming in flavor. Seafood Ravioli 7/10. Zoodles 6/10. Meatballs 8/10. Da Vinci is a nice option for Italian in Bloomington. The bruschetta has a good amount of toppings and the bread is toasted... well. The caeser salad has a lot of dressing which I enjoyed and the croutons on it are great too. We had a create your ownpizza with fior di latte cheese, tomato, and basil. The pizza was cooked well and tasted good. The ?mozzarella? cheese that theyhave is all vegan so it is a good option for someone who follows that diet. The service is good as well. Consistently good! After three visits, I feel comfortable recommending this local casual spot of pizza-pasta-salad. The pizza... is Neapolitan style and delicious (though a bit salty), the pastas are very nice, and the salads are, well, assemblesalads.
