Wow, I am amazed. Not only was the cake beautiful but the flavor was amazing, it?s all anyone was taking about. Very moist not... overly sweet! I was very worried about the buttercream as I?ve had bad buttercream experiences but wow this buttercream was softand fluffy not greasy or filmy at all. Rudy?s Pastry Shop created the most incredible cake for my friend?s baby shower. The theme was books and I had asked for a... stacked book design with specific titles - the cake turned out fabulous and was a million times better than the inspirationphotos I provided. Update to the below: after the owner saw the review, they left me a very hostile email (in images). This is after we dropped off... the remaining half of the cake in person and discussed the situation with the staff and exchanged several emails/calls. We haveworked with this bakery for several birthdays over the last two years. The cakes have been amazing most of the time. We recentlydid a cake last week (the rugrats one), which looked great. However, all five of us noticed that the taste was off and gave acouple of us an upset stomach. We brought the remaining half of the cake by the bakery and the owner stated they didn?t tasteanything strange. Instead of offering a partial refund since we brought back about half of the cake for them to review and hadto buy a different cake from a nearby store, they offered a ?$15 credit? to use in the future. Why would we want to continuepatronize a bakery that we?ve spent hundreds of dollars over the years that doesn?t want to properly rectify the situation?Clearly 5 of us felt the cake didn?t taste right. I?m honestly disappointed because we were really happy to find a local bakerythat was good at executing our vision and made excellent tasting cake. First of all, for our tasting we chose 3 fillings and 3 cake flavors and were given 3 full 6 in cakes to sample and then take... home. That alone was amazing because we tasted fresh cake, not freezer burnt samples. Do not let Rudy?s commercial appearancedeter you because their cake is delicious. If you hate overly sweet frosting you will love their buttercream. We had a four tiercake and chose chocolate cake, vanilla cake, chocolate pudding filling and Bavarian cream with fresh strawberries as ourflavors. Wow. I saw this donut cake on their website and reached out to have one made for my son's 1st birthday. When they told me the... price (VERY reasonable) I was honestly skeptical but decided to just see how it turned out. Not only was the cake beautiful (seepic) but it tasted great! It was a big hit. They responded quickly to every email we... sent, and our tasting with their head baker, Sergio, was such a fun, delicious experience--Plus they let us take home threecakes to share with our family and get opinions before choosing flavor combinations.
