This place is located in a strip mall and on a hungry night we stopped here. The place is brightly lit and seemed to be the... local watering hole for your average collage kids. It was very loud and lots of chatter but I was mesmerized by the artistry ofthe chefs. The sushi was very good and tasted fresh. Some of the non raw items were not as expected but we ended up here due tothe late hours. You can watch the chefs prepare meals and watch them make it all decorative for a great presentation. First time at Hajime. Somewhat casual atmosphere not formal. Our party of four started with some edamame which was very tasty.... For the main course we ordered several rolls both cooked and uncooked. Including a white dragon roll and poison spider roll,two of my favorites. We also had a sweet and sassy roll a volcano roll and others. All the rolls were very good and reasonablypriced. Drinks were good as well. I would recommend this place without hesitation. We went on Friday night and it was PACKED. Even with a reservation we still had to wait in line a good 10 minutes. The... atmosphere is loud and lively, not what I was expecting. The chefs prepare the sushi visibly, near the bar. The food was AMAZINGand the menu is awesome. I got the North Shore roll and it was super good. Husband got the shrimp hibachi. His only complaintwas the rice was chicken fried rice and didn't taste like the classic hibachi fried rice. All in all very good, excited toreturn. Read more
