Recently moved into the area. Went to Roast House in Blackstone on 4 different occasions, with 5 different people. Had the same... waitress 3 of the 4 times. 4 of those 5 guests of mine said they wish not to eat there again. The 5th would eat just aboutanything, anywhere. My most recent visit, will also be my last visit. Same waitress, as before, even when the place was empty,was painfully slow. Same as before. She acted as if she didn't care whatsoever about her customers, let alone her jobperformance, same as the pervious two times she waited in me and my guests. When she did get around to "serving" our pre-mealbeverages, I immediately pointed out an issue. Once again she acted as if she could not have cared any less. Almostreluctantly, she gave a half hearted effort to rectify the issue. And, as I later found out, told a "fib" as to what hadhappened. Of note, she never did clear the offensive item from the table. She just left it there. As for the meal itself, bothmy guest and I ordered the same meal. What was suppose to be a "Tuna Melt Sandwich" turned out to be nothing more that 2 piecesof toast, with a small scoop of what seemed liked, anything but fresh tuna fish. We would have been better off eating a weekold tightly wrapped $ 4 sandwich from a gas station. We finished the "meal" I paid the bill, ( note for witch I was stillcharged for the "offensive" item and for some reason I still "tipped" this so called "Waitress", and we left. My tip to herrally should have been. "Find a new line of work or job, clearly you do not want to be here doing this" A few hours later thatevening, after getting physically sick " I returned to the Roast House to alert the hostess, who I later discovered was one inthe same, the "Owner" of this establishment. I'm a regular here and often bring employees and friends. Wide variety on the menu, good food, reasonable prices, specials and... a friendly wait staff. Home style atmosphere. Read more
The food was good, and service (by Linda) was excellent. The disappointment for me was the lack of vegetable options (cole slaw... or corn on cob) for sides other than starches (lots if potato). I was grateful for the dinner salad for this reason. Also, ourtake out garlic parmesean wings didn't have any sauce on them when we opened them at home so they were dry. Read more
Fantastic place! Filled with wonderful staff and familiar comfort food that still shined amongst the various "just like mama... made it" type places in the area. My experience here really stood out, and I will be returning! Read more
I?ve given this place chance after chance but %75 of the time I order takeout I?m disappointed. The times I?ve eaten inside are... decent but it?s like they don?t know how to prepare food for takeout. I got baked haddock w/breadcrumbs and the breadcrumbs(theflavor basically ) was all off to the side sopping wet in the corner . Good food and the service is the stand out here. The Prime Rib here is amazing and if you crave that please give this place a... try. Recently had a special Salmon Fish Tacos and they were amazing. In closing the place has some of the best service and waitstaff. You will be surprised at the variety of choices, maybe a little too many choices, and they could slim it down a bit, butas long as the quality stays the way it is then who am I to say.
