This is one of the more unique spaces on the East Coast, in which you are supposed to use the space to connect with people on a... different wavelength with wine and light food. You won’t find TVs, loud music or have wifi passwords. The proprietors ofthis venue have put 200% thought into the design, furniture, ambience and the overall experience you will find here. Theirwines are top of the line, thoughtful and are the backbone of this place. Again, it is light food, you won’t find "hot apps"or a full meal here and if you are wanting that, go elsewhere. I live 4-1/2 hours away from this venue and have at least done10 separate last minute trips just to get the wine and food this place offers. It is THAT good. If you aren’t looking forwhat this place offers and want TVs, loud music, nachos, and wifi passwords, Sharkey’s and “T.O.T.S.” are a 10 minute walkaway. Date night, early day off, drinks with friends, family gathering, client meeting, business celebration, or really any occasion... this is the place for it. The atmosphere, friendly staff, and experience is ????. The wine selection is AMAZING but if you areinto classic cocktails and beer they also have you covered! Highly recommend making a reservation because it gets busy quick!The food is local and amazing, try a classic salad and be pampered by the charcuterie boards. Very unique concept and love the Cheese and Charcuterie board! Baked Brie was fantastic. You have to try both. Huge selection... of wine, other alcoholic beverages were also available. I believe chef changes the menu often. Food was not your average barfood, you wouldn’t find it elsewhere. Everyone from our group loved their sandwiches and salads. I do wish there were moresandwich selections, six out of eleven people ordered Chipotle Turkey sandwich. Tomato soup had a good flavor but it was verythick, almost tasted like a fancy spaghetti sauce. No one was remotely interested in the tinned seafood which was a big sectionon their menu. I am curious how their sales in tinned seafood were. I am sure some of them are delicious and rare to find, butit just didn’t seem like a lunch item. I would try them if I was there with a friend to have a few glasses of wine. All andall, food was gourmet and affordable. I highly recommend this place. Read more
I visited Blacksburg Wine Lab recently for the first time with 2 friends for dinner and it was everything I could have wanted... and more. The ambience is gorgeous and very welcoming, and the food and drinks are delicious. If you’re on the fence;definitely get the baked Brie! I also ordered the non-alcoholic Pomegranate Orange Spritz - delicious and so refreshing! Myhusband loves his Slightly Sweet Wine Flight, and both of our sandwiches were so decadent and yummy. Had a wonderful trip down to Blacksburg and enjoyed checking out this restaurant. The wine flights were amazing, the service was... great and the staff was super helpful in picking out new wines to take home and try. If you like wine, and are looking for arelaxed atmosphere to enjoy a glass or two on date night this is a great place to try out! Read more
Nice drinks and food. Enjoyed it. Super close to campus (or at least my department), which makes it very convenient for a quick... outing and drinks. Service is fast too which makes it all better. Can get busy on weekends, so reservations can help. Doesn’tseem too popular with students though. Read more
I think this is one of the nicer atmospheres in Blacksburg dining.The food is really good. (not really dinner, no entrees,... mostly charcuterie, sandwiches.) Wine selection is amazing. Service is usually painfully slow. The male bartender is great. Ifyou sit at bar service is better. It makes for a good date night or a night out with friends. Read more
