Good points: close to town, bed and leather chairs in the room were comfortable, ceiling fan. Bad points: thin walls so it... was very loud whenever anyone walked down the hall and even the noise from the bar. No reading lights in the room. Tinybathroom with no place to put anything. Poor breakfast, even Hampton Inn has better. We will not be back and I would notrecommend it. Read more
I so desperately want to love this hotel. The staff is friendly, it?s very clean and I can even live without having a tv in the... room. The three flights of stairs can be a drag but understandable for a historic building. Once I got to the top I wasdisappointed to find that there wasn?t any kind of mini fridge to put some drinks in, which means you have to go down threeflights of stairs to get a cold beverage. The rooms do not have independent temperature control and my bed was DIRECTLYunderneath the ac vent and blew on my head all night. The simple solution would be to move the bed to the other wall butmanagement didn?t seem to care to be bothered by my complaint nor would they refund me for the two nights I had left in my stay.I had to pay for a massage just to be able to turn my head the next day, after having frigid air blown on my head. I?m alsodisappointed in the bedding and linens. This not a motel and is advertised as a three-star boutique hotel and the sheets arelike sandpaper, lumpy pillows, the towels are frayed, and the bed is hard. If you?re not going to outfit the room with a fridge,temp control, or other modern amenities, the least you could do is splurge a bit on the linens. And maybe provide an additionalblanket between the sheet and bed spread if you plan on keeping it at subzero temperatures. Read more
I stayed here last year with a friend and enjoyed one of the best weekends in the mountains I have ever experienced. I love... Milton Cuisine, the dining area meant for breakfast, the rooms, and the romantic ambiance. The best place to stay in or nearAsheville. Read more

Main historical building is very nice. Grounds are OK. Very Friendly staff. The restaurant is one of those overpriced, small... fancy portions. The room we stayed in was in the lodge part of hotel. For $180.00 a night what a disappointment. Room issmall and looked like a $60.00 a night Red Roof Inn room. Bed has a cheap, hard, uncomfortable, steel frame mattress. Bedcoverings are cheap $29.99 bedspread set from Walmart. Sheets are cheap standard cotton. No in room refrigerator. Only dressertype unit for your clothes is a cheap book shelf. Bathroom,, same has rest of room. No way is this place worth $180 a nightfor this room. Only reason for two stars is the location and the main building has nice historical features. Read more
We loved this place for many reasons ! The service and friendliness of the staff was truly outstanding . We were especially... impressed with Brittani , Kim and Vivian ! We had the entire hold booked for a wedding weekend these 3 people workedtirelessly to make this a very special time . Kim and Vivian should be highly recognized by their management for their trulyabove and beyond ( always with a smile ) work ethic . They knew pleasing the guest was their number one priority ! The hotel /inn itself was great . Rooms are clean and have a great aesthetic ( especially the larger rooms ). I would highly recommendstaying or hosting a event at Monte Vista ? ?????????? Read more
The Milton Restaurant in the hotel is tops. The beef stew and carrot cake were delicious. I also recommend the After Dark and... Stormy cocktail. Yum yum! Read more
