having just come out of nearly a year of working at dynamite, there are a few things i feel like i should bring attention to,... for anyone who?s considering this as a place of employment/simply to raise awareness in the community: I love that dynamite is afair trade organic roaster. i love the customers, my coworkers, and the cafe manager. however, upper management leaves somethingto be desired in the way they treat their employees. Concerns with pay were met with disregard, irritation, and finally athreatening notice to cease all pay complaints, or else. we were told we would be fired if we did not wear company tshirts towork. we were told we would be fired if we were caught with a book or phone behind the bar. eventually, a situation arose whichthe general manager, Patrick Shaw, handled incredibly unprofessionally with complete lack of communication. This was certainlynot the first encounter with Patrick which all of the cafe staff felt was handled poorly. I wrote an email to my cafe managerwith expectation of privacy, voicing concerns regarding Patrick. I expressed that I would begin looking for other employmentsoon. I was fired the next day. After being one of their longest-lasting staff, a favorite of the customers, and someone whoalways showed up on time, I was let go. No attempt to resolve the differences was made. I felt very disrespected and it wastruly a disappointing move to fire me when they knew I was starting to seek employment elsewhere. All that to say - if you findyourself an employee of Dynamite, keep your head down and mouth shut, otherwise, you might get fired for sticking up foryourself. Read more

Vanilla latte and Honduras dark roast were some of the better I've had from a small shop. Roast seemed just right on the coffee... and the latte was well proportioned between espresso steamed milk and froth. I worked at Starbucks for years and this place isbetter over all. Read more

Frustratingly inconsistent as a regular from the area. Dynamite makes good coffee with lots of interesting varieties and roasts,... but they don't have the quality controlled when you buy bags to take home. I love their whole bean medium Mexican Chiapasnormally but they over-roasted it this time around (2022-06-01-ish) and it was sour and burnt tasting (def not a Covid-noseproblem, and several people agreed with several cups made at different times on clean burr grinder and french press equipment.)It's not the first time I've wondered if it's just me, was this bag different the last time, or am I just being picky, but thistime I was sure it wasn't me and it was a roasting error. The location is convenient, but I want to trust I'm getting what Iexpected or close to it, not play Russian roulette. Read more

Great coffee with a smooth taste that awakens your innermost yearnings. The ambiance makes for a relaxing and enjoyable... experience. The retro touch via a blast from the records and player adds a unique and meaningful touch to the overallexperience. As a side note, they do have Wifi (5G) and oat milk as an alternate base for those who prefer non-dairy. The staffis suburb, courteous, and on-point in every respect. Keep it up! Read more

The best coffee in black mountain! My wife and I come here and get at least one bag of coffee beans every time we are in town.... It?s located right off the highway in an easy to access location so it?s super easy to grab a cup of coffee here before you headto Asheville or ride the Blue Ridge Parkway!! Read more

Always a favorite on my trips to Black Mountain. The roasting is amazing and they know how to make proper espresso drinks.... Bought a pound of light roast Honduran coffee for myself, a one of espresso roast for my father, and a double espresso macchiatoto enjoy in the shop. Warm and comfortable environment with pleasant music (Carol King tonight, they have a large and variedvinyl collection) and gorgeous mountain vistas out the windows. Read more
