The food was mostly very good. Fried chicken, burgers eaten by most of our group. The fries were very undercooked and one guy... returned his and got kind of an attitude from the staff member. He got new fries that weren?t much better. Otherwise though, good food. Great Mac n cheese. The order at the bar thing is very convenient. Music was too loud for the space, but themusicians were very good. 4 stars due to the food and volume BUT - I attribute the fries to the fact we had a large group andthey were trying to get food out fast, which they did. So, I?d imagine that?s not a regular issue, and some people like loudmusic, too - so take my opinion with that perspective. Read more

Small menu but we didn?t mind ?delicious food!! We had the wings, the chicken sandwich (yum), fries and tots with ?secret... decadence?. Several great local brews on tap. Amazing place to grab drinks and food while touring downtown. Awesome servicetoo! Gotta love it when the bartender remembers your name and thanks you by name. Can?t wait to come back! Read more

Beer and beer selection were fine. No complaints about the staff or service. A couple of burgers and some chicken wings were... absolutely terrible. One of the worst meals I?ve ever experienced at a restaurant. Chicken was so dry it wasn?t edible and justthrew away. Burgers were advertised as a smash burger, but tasted like a frozen generic burger from the local supermarketfreezer section. Based on the shape and meat characteristics, definitely wasn?t a smashed cooking technique as advertised.Maybe we just caught them on an off day. Would be a fine place to grab a beer and hang out with a friend, but would avoid thefood unless something changes. Would give 1 star based on food and 3-4 for the rest, so gave a 3 overall. My pimento cheese was the best I've had! It was on sliced, toasted sour dough... So yummy! Beers are fab. My waiter, Max, was... excellent. He knew his beers and could recommend just what I wanted. He was patient with me having to choose beers and not beingacquainted with the menu. I drank 3 different 1/2 pints and all were good. Love this place. Read more

Delicious restaurant and ale house that surprisingly specializes in fried chicken. Black Mountain Kitchen is in a great location... in downtown Black Mountain. They have a nicely sized patio out back that is great on nice days. The menu is unique and deliciouswith a focus on fried chicken, which doesn't disappoint. Try the fried hot chicken livers if you're feeling adventurous, or atraditional fried bird if you want to play it safe. My only complaint is that their "hot" chicken, despite having amazingflavor, was not spicy at all. The beer menu is extensive as well with some unique offerings. Read more
