We went for our anniversary and it was near perfect. The staff is accommodating & attentive without being pushy. The cocktails... were tasty and interesting. And the food was incredible. We ordered several small plates and each was original and flavorful. Wedid not hold back and still spent under $200. Highly recommend! Read more

OvenBird is a super cute, farm-to-table restaurant with a country estate interior / feel. The service was adequate, friendly... and explained. My main issue is the pricing: menu offerings are super small plates (be prepared for this), but at main dishpricing. I get this for fine dining, but their food is not that; it?s rustic and not particularly fussy. I got the scallops a laplancha ($28 for literally 3 and 1 broccoli rabe), and mushroom conserva ($16 for button mushrooms, 1 egg and greens) Both we?reover seasoned and small. The price does not justify the product IMO. 72 dollars for 1 drink, scallops, and mushrooms, inBirmingham, I think not! Read more

This fantastic restaurant comes from Birmingham Chef Chris Hastings. The atmosphere is casual and comfortable. A large wood... fired oven greets you as you enter. The plates are for the most part "Tapas" style. We enjoyed a variety of dishes and were verypleased with everything! Not only will I gladly return, I will recommend it to visiting friends and family so as to highlightsome Magic City quality cuisine. Read more

Great place to eat. Did not have a reservation and got a seat rather quickly. Went out with some friends for a birthday dinner.... Had a tempranillo, charcuterie, emapañadas for starters. The house made mustard and the honey was great on the cheese andmeats. The empañadas were good, meat was a tad underseasoned, but still good. For the main shared tapas, we had the scallops, roasted chicken. The wine for the main courses was an albariño from riajas baxis. The server was great and had a generalunderstanding of the wines. These were fantastic. For dessert, we had the Madeira and branded style creme brulée. The winechoices were great. Good experience from start to finish. Server respected out space and time there. Would certainly go again. Read more

Quality at its finest. Ovenbird is consistent with its theme, hence, open fire/pit stations and ovens were positioned... throughout the establishment. The food was terrific and the staff/service was great. Wonderful date night. Read more

Very delicious and spent hours here because the experience was so enjoyable. Our waitress Amber was amazing and would 100% go... again. This concept is not something you can find anywhere in Alabama and the ambience is very unique. I didn?t take a pictureof every dish we got but we almost ordered everything on the menu. Read more

It felt like a magical experience. The ambience lends itself very well to the artisanal food and drink selections. My server... Jack T was very thoughtful, personable, and knowledgeable. He informed us of the flavors and how to incorporate everything. Myonly gripe is that the food runner didn't inform us about how to eat the food (Pro tip: the lamb meatballs are best if you eatthem in a single bite with the lettuce and sauce). I will most certainly return and ask for Jack! Read more
