Reviews for Ginza Sushi & Korean BBQ in Birmingham, AL
If you have the option to go somewhere else, you should. It wasn?t the worst, but it was not good at all. A mediocre meal is... putting it nicely. You can tell they are slightly understaffed to handle what they had to do I?m not going to criticize theservice, they were all working hard to give the best experience they could. However, the food was awful. The only thing that wasgood was the kimchi and pickled radish. The chicken and shrimp were borderline on edible. Extremely chewy and over cooked. Forsitting in so much sauce the inside of the chicken was drier than the Sahara. The food was like warm at best. Sushi was decent, not great, not horrible. Read more

Ginza hands down has the best sushi in Birmingham. The spicy tuna is amazing! The Korean BBQ is also a super fun experience for... a night out. Super easy to cook, and tasty. I recommend the Ginza bulgogi or the spicy chicken. The steamed rice is super fluffyand good. All of the employees are super sweet and everyone has a smile on their face. 10/10 recommend! Read more
The sushi is fantastic. The crunchy shrimp is awesome. This place is never very busy and they have attentive service. I tried... the Korean BBQ (which is not a plate of meat with sauce on it). They sit you at a table with a grill in the middle and you cookyour own food. Only give this a 4 as I am not a fan of cooking my own food but it was a fun experience. Read more
Chicken, scallops, shrimp and beef all marinating on the same warm plate... I've been to some amazing Korean BBQ restaurants in... Texas, Florida and Georgia. Not one of those restaurants, which were, by most standards, SUPER expensive but well with it, everbrought out selection of meats all at one time, or on the same plate. Obvious cross contamination is a regular thing here. Thebest thing we had was the tempura sweet potatoes. We drove over an hour to come here and will not be returning. Read more
Went here for dinner to experience the Korean BBQ Grill that they have.. We ordered the Sam-gyub-sal ($19)(not marinated) and... Spicy Galbi ($24)(marinated) both came in a plate with only just (4 slices). I ordered sweet tea as my drink and tried theirTakoyaki ($6)(5pcs). Everything tastes great. You can grill the meat as cooked as you want it to be, or you can ask them tosupervise you with the grilling and the waiter/waitress is very accomodating. It was a nice experience, the ambiance is dim butwell lit at the same time. The bbq grill tables are placed in one area and the normal tables are on the other side of therestaurant. The korean side dishes like the kimchi, radish and mung sprouts are unlimited.. you can just ask them to refill itwhenever. The rice isn't refillable tho. I gave 4 starts because food is really good, ambiance is nice too.. but it'sexpensive.. we ended up having to pay around $65 (we gave $9 tip) for 2pax. We were served well and fast, good job. Stopped by for a quick lunch. Saw Korean BBQ and was intrigued. The Bugolgi was good, not to sweet. Kimchi had a slight kicked... but definitely not homemade. Pickled radishes were excellent! Nice flavor and depth. Teriyaki shrimp was very good, someteriyaki is too sweet but this was just right. Stir fry veggies were crisp and well cooked, great flavor. Side salad wastypical ginger dressing, and just OK. Miso soup was bland and needed salt. Would have given 4 stars but service was excellentand staff was friendly. Restaurant was clean and well kept. Prices were fair for lunch. Overall great experience. Might trydinner next time to see their dinner menu. Very pleased! Read more
