I was there today to order an orange & carrot juice around 1 pm. There was no line and there didn't appear to be any customers... before me waiting. I ordered a simple item off the menu....should have been easy peasy, right? Wrong! The young lady that tookmy order was nice enough. I paid cash and didn't think anything of it when she didn't give me a receipt. She walked away to whatI assumed was to make my drink. As I waited patiently, the line at the register got busy with about 3-4 people. A young manbegan taking the orders at the register while the young lady that took my order was making a bowl and nicely slicing bananasonto it. No problem, she'll make my drink after this bowl. I watch the young man yawning while he's taking the orders at theregister, looking none too pleased to even be there. The young lady hands the bowl to the customer and I thought she'ddefinitely start making my juice. No! She began pacing back and forth between the posters on the wall as if she was trying tolook for instructions on how to make something. Then she'd walk to the back room and then back out to read the posters. Shefinally walked up to the young man at the register and appeared to ask him for help. He continued at the register as he was. Shewalked back to the blenders only to stand there frustrated and then started putting contents into a blender. Another order thatis not mine. Now I've been there for 20 minutes and I'm annoyed, the lady next to me is annoyed and new people are at the lineand I'm thinking that they are just wasting their time. I finally went to the register and asked for my money back. He asked mefor my receipt which I then had to reply I wasn't given one. At this point, I told the people that were in line that theyshouldn't even bother. In the entire time I waited, I saw one item made which was the fruit bowl!! Jamba Juice ftw! I grew up with Robeks and Smoothie Kings, but once I had Jamba Juice for the first time in Dupont Circle and... later this Jamba Juice location, I haven't gone back to those inferior smoothie joints. What I love about Jamba Juice is thatthey add no sugars or sweeteners to their smoothies. It's all fruit and everything is natural. The flavor you taste in yoursmoothie is from the fruit and not from any added sugars. That's a smoothie and now I don't want anything less than wholesomefruit. I usually order either a Caribbean Passion or Mango-A-Go-Go when I go to Jamba Juice; both are winners in my opinion.Honestly, most of their smoothies look good. I don't know of any smoothie at Jamba Juice that people hate with a passion. Youcan also get boosts, like antioxidant, energy, or Vitamin C, added to your smoothie for 25 cents a boost.
