If you're craving some authentic Ethiopian food, look no further than CherCher! I just moved to Bethesda from Houston and I... honestly feel that I have high standards for Ethiopian food because of it. This place was great. My friends and I each startedwith the Lentil Sambosa. It was my first time trying them and I honestly wasn't the hugest fan. Maybe if it was paired with adifferent sauce, but it also might just be because I'm not familiar with Sambosas. Usually when I go to Ethiopian, I gostraight for the vegetable platter (even though I'm not vegetarian). However, I was really craving salmon and so I tried theTibs-- definitely the right move! The dish was delicious and paired great with the salad mixture. I'm not sure if it's supposedto be spicy but my only complaint is that I wish it was a little spicy! Would definitely order again. We also all paired ourmeal with a bottle of Tej, a honey wine that is similar to mead. Majestic. Definitely check this place out! Read more

Excellent Ethiopian food in Bethesda. Loved the Samosa which were flaky and hot. Three of us had come off the Appalachian Trail... and we're super hungry, and just finished the $60 meat and vegan platter. (I normally eat vegetarian but was craving meat afterhiking many miles). I would think it would feed four normally hungry people. The lamb and beets were particularly good. As otherreviewers have mentioned, they seemed under staffed, with two people serving the whole restaurant. That is a common thing thesedays, and they were fast when we grabbed their attention. Thanks for a great dinner! Read more

Great food and service at this location, found a vegetarian option which is always a plus, the waitress was very friendly and... recommended dishes and suggested how we should eat and mix the food. I just wish the outside seating was better. The patiotables/seating wasn’t very clean. Read more

The Ethiopian food here is fine, you'll find better in the county and definitely in DC but the service here is very lacking.... Just not a great deal of concern for the customer experience. They don't even bring out a wet hand towel to clean your handsbefore you eat with your hands, which is fairly typical for a cuisine you're encouraged to eat with your hands. We were keptwaiting for a while between visits and our appetizer (sambusas) came out cold and dry. If you're going to try something, I'drecommend the veggie & meat sampler for $60, it's plenty of food for 2-3 people and you'll get a nice variety of vegetabledishes and lamb, chicken and beef dishes too. Their drink menu is uninspiring. Update - the owner's response about the handtowel is interesting. They completely skip past the poor service issues and say you can get a wet hand towel if you request itand that they are trying to get people to eat with their hands. As I wrote, the hand towel is to *clean* your hands *before* youeat with your hands, as has been customary in any culture including mine where you eat with your hands. Read more
