I actually like this pasta place quite a bit. The portion is filling and you can honestly take it back home for a round two, the... lasagna I had was also quite tasty and delicious. The penne Bolognese my gf had was also quite good. Overall, if you arelooking for a first date spot/ small group pasta hangout spot, this place is the way to go. Employees are nice, good atmosphereand vibes, and an easy menu to choose for my indecisive friends haha. Rating: 8/10 Read more

The fettuccine alfredo gave me food poisoning. I'd strongly advise people to avoid this place. Food that doesn't taste good is... one thing (this actually tasted alright), but this food might make you really sick. If anyone from Pasta Bene reads this, youneed to start taking your food safety more seriously. Read more

I have been here twice, once for chicken parm (about 15 bucks) and more recently I have gone for cheese ravioli. I have... concluded that the food is really freaking tasty. The portions aren?t massive for the price but, for Berkeley, it is reasonable. The food here is so delicious? I think I?m lactose intolerant but I still eat here because it?s so dang tasty? Also, there is ahappy hour special for four types of pasta. The info is listed on their website. Somebody please correct me if I?m wrong, but Idon?t think this information is reflected on their Snackpass menu. If this is the case, please do update it! I do like to orderin advance. :) Read more

The Food It would seem like it is a pasta kind of day, and the new selection was Pasta Bene. I ordered their Gnocchi Sausage... while my friend ordered the Fettuccine Alfredo. We also got Garlic Fries to share as an appetizer. The Garlic Fries were ok, notbad, but also not impressive. I originally wanted to ask for the Gnocchi Sausage with Alfredo sauce instead. But the tomatocream sauce turned out to be good also. But I kind of want to try and see what it would taste like with Alfredo sauce...maybenext time. The Miscellaneous The restaurant is on one of the main streets, so parking might be difficult depending on time. There is a decent amount of seating with the combination of indoor and outdoor. The interior also has an open kitchen design, soyou can see the operations. The staff were helpful and sincere with their service. They have a good selection from their menuincluding salads, sandwiches, and pizzas. The prices are also not too bad, reasonable. This is the first pasta place I triedaround the area. Want to try some other places to have a comparison on how well each one is. But I guess this is not a badstart. Read more

Got a craving for Italian food in Berkeley, but want something nicer and way tastier than Gypsy's? Pasta Bene is probably for... you then. The family that runs this restaurant is always friendly, and the food they serve up is delicious and quite generous insize for the price. Whether it's pizza or pasta, you're sure to get something satisfying and filling, all without breaking thebank. Each dish looks and tastes crafted with familial love and care, and everything I've tried has been excellent. My personalfavorite is the chicken marsala. They have a small selection of local beers on tap, as well as a nice wine selection, so you'resure to find an excellent pairing with your food. The atmosphere is quaint and inviting. The seating can accommodate a varietyof sized groups, whether dining alone or in a party of two, four, even twelve! There's also outdoor seating available, perfectfor those warm summer nights. Like jazz? Even from outside, you can hear standards galore playing from the overhead speakers. If it's not your thing, it's good background for a nice restaurant setting. If it is your thing, you might find yourself toetapping and humming along. Overall, it''s a nice, casual date spot! Read more
