Reviews for Mount Everest Restaurant in Berkeley, CA
Food was excellent. I ordered the coconut chicken curry and chicken saag. Be advised that rice is NOT included and must be... ordered separately. It's a huge pet peeve of mine when restaurants do this without making it clear, because what ends uphappening is customers end up with orders of food with no rice. This is incredibly annoying for delivery orders. If places likethis don't include rice with their meals they should at least make that clear. I spoke with the manager and hopefully they willtake this point into consideration. Read more
I’m new to the Bay Area so I was trying to find a restaurant that I would love to frequent during my time here and this is... absolutely the place to go for a delicious hot meal. The garlic naan, buttered chicken and basmati rice make 2 or even 2 and ahalf meals but it’s so delicious I end up stuffing myself with all of it in one sitting. You will enjoy this restaurant. I've had much better Indian food at other restaurants for easily $10-15 less. The naan paneer didn't have much paneer on it and... the matar in the aloo matar was pretty bland. I've eaten at a different Indian restaurant every week for a few weeks and thisone by far is my least favorite. Read more
I came for lunch. The ambiance was cozy-- large windows, soft music, beautiful strands of pothos plants hanging from balcony.... The staff was friendly, if not particularly engaging. - Chai was prrrrretty bland-- effectively warm, brown milk. I'm notentirely sure, because I wasn't interested in more, but the refills don't seem to be free here. It was cheap though: $1.75. -Samosas were large but bland as well. Not very crispy. The mint chutney was tangy and relatively thick; the brown chutney wassweet with no other flavor-- but not bad. - The butter chicken's creaminess was on point and the chicken was perfectly tender; Iasked for it spicy, but did not receive it spicy at all, and, if you like heavy use of herbs or spices to bulk up the flavor, itmight not be the butter chicken for you. The portion size wasn't bad. Overall, not a bad meal, but, if you prefer desi foodthat smacks you in the mouth with potent flavor, I wouldn't recommend what I ordered. Read more
Great food which wide range diverse menu, awesome lunch options. Atmosphere: laid back with ample ceiling which ensured the... place is flooded with light. Beautiful map as well of the Himalayas. Toilet was also clean. Momos: the pastry slightly on thethicker side, but the filling was great. Lunch special's portion was generous. Service: friendly and they were attentive to mydietary restrictions, subbing everything to ensure that there was no dairy. Would definitely come again. Read more
Enjoyed the food a lot! Great taste and a super reasonable price to boot. Loved the Nepalese decor and especially liked the... picture of rural Nepalese children on the menu. One issue though, be prepared that dishes can take longer to prepare and serveso plan accordingly Read more
