Extremely disappointed. Was looking for a casual breakfast spot in Berkeley and this had good reviews and menu. It took us 45... minutes until we got our food - a sub par omelette, biscuits & gravy, and pancakes. Only giving 2 stars bc of the pancakes. Thisplace is clearly short of staff and we witnessed multiple bugs flying around and the staff bickering with each other. Thebathroom was also gross. Recommend skipping. Finally had time to try this place. Ordered pancakes, bacon& eggs. I was told order would be ready 20 to 25 minutes. I went in... to pickup order and was told about 10 more minutes. The cashier said I could pay now and she would call out to me when order isready. After 10 minutes or so, husband went back to get my order, the cashier was walking to meet him, we drove home. When I gothome and opened the box I could not believe my eyes, two pancakes, one was burned as black as the bag that they put my order in.We drove right back to the restaurant. I went in and complained (different cashier at front) that we had waited 45 minutes forthis unacceptable meal and I let the cashier know I wanted a refund. I opened the box to show him how the burned pancake wasplaced on the bottom( did they think I would not notice) The cashier said he could see why I was upset. Also I asked him ifsyrup & butter come with the pancakes. .He said yes. I did not have with my order., . He was trying to refund to my account butcould not give me a receipt. The receipt that he printed looked like he debited my account again. I told him I have waited longenough that he should give me cash, which he did. What a Horrible experience. I will not try this place again. I will be sureto check my bank account to make sure I didn?t pay twice. Waste of time! Read more
TRUST THE REVIEWS, NOT THE RATING. NOT WORTH THE TIME. We were super excited to eat here, but our excitement quickly expired as... our hunger increased as time lapsed. We waited over half an hour for our food(pancakes, fruit and eggs). Others who had arrivedafter us were served long before we were. No one came and checked on us in the meantime, to refill our drinks or otherwise. And when we got our tab it was disappointing to see there was an automatic 20% gratuity applied. Really quaint and friendly corner breakfast spot. Cage free eggs and we sampled various baked goods that were exceptional. ... Waffle is delicious and they also serve grits. Specials looked very inviting, although I didn't try one. Service was thoroughand extra friendly. The staff made our visit very very enjoyable. Read more
