Poutine, deep fried cheese curds, brisket and bacon sandwiches. In other words, Canadian comfort food. The quality is definitely... there, and portions are generous. I love Augie's. You will love Augie's. Maybe if you're vegan you will have some concerns -- but you are used to that. The food... is awesome. The people are awesome. The space is special -- even by non-Berkeley standards. Savory salvation + trains is likeheaven for certain nerds. I'm afraid I may be one. Read more

12-20-20: Where do I start? Thankful that they are open during the pandemic. First time trying the food and the person who took... our order gave us great recommendations. Workers were super nice and friendly... As you would expect from Canadians????. Tried the poutine with gravy ????. Huge order and the ???? and curds went well with the gravy. The pastrami sandwich weordered was served hot at their recommendation. Meat was nice and tender. They also recommended the medium level of fattiness...Which was a good idea. They said in Montreal, they drink a black cherry cola. So we did that too! Would definitely come backagain for more delicious food! Read more
superb quailty as always! went on a Saturday afternoon, easy parking right up front, and plenty of free tables outside (outdoor... dining only). everything was spaced out well, tables all very clean, and food served in to go containers. canned and bottle softdrinks and local beers too. thanks Augie's! ???????? What a perfect place to feel relaxed, have great food and hang out. Casual ambience that works perfectly with their... menu. The Montreal smoked meat is really, really good, but you also need the right bread and sides to make it work - and theydo make it all work together very well. Poutine was robust, savory and basic - the way it should be. Everything was on point,and the service and staff were great. Dog friendly outdoor seating scores big points. I'm not sure why poutine hasn't caught on in the States because there's nothing better than fries topped with cheese curds and... gravy. Augie's serves up some delicious poutine and their gravy is good on everything. The fried cheese curds and gravy areanother delicious side. Today they had a "Canadian Dip" special which was a smoked meat sandwich with gravy to dip and a side ofcole slaw. I like that their slaw is lightly dressed in a vinegar dressing and not sweet and mayonnaise. Read more
