Worst ramen I've paid for in a while. I ordered the deluxe black garlic ramen, and it came with a quarter inch of oil floating... on top of the broth. It was so greasy I barely wanted to eat it. The noodles were just okay. There was not enough broth. I wasalso initially served a regular ramen and had to call someone over to give me the egg and extra chashu I ordered. I could getway better ramen just down the street for what I paid for this. I'm not going back. Read more

Bizarre experience. I ordered a black tonkatsu ramen with extra chashu to dine in. When it was served, it was ramen with…... something else. The conversation went something like: Me: Excuse me. What is this? Guy 1: It’s chicken. Me: Ah, I orderedtonkatsu ramen with extra chashu. Guy 1: So we’ve run out of chashu today. Me: But this isn’t what I ordered. Guy 1: I’msorry, but we’re out of chashu. Me: Then I’d like a refund for this, please. (Guy 1 calls over guy 2) Guy 2: What is theproblem? Me: I ordered a tonkatsu ramen with extra chashu, but this is chicken. Guy 2: I’ll make another one for you. (Guy 2immediate took my bowl and dumped it, which is a shame, then proceeded to pour hot water. 2 mins later…) Me: Excuse me. Whatexactly are you making? Is it a tonkatsu ramen with extra chashu? Guy 2: Ah so we’ve actually run out of chashu today. Me:Ok… Could you give me a refund, then? They did end up processing my refund and were friendly throughout, but the lack of manymenu items and lack of communication before randomly switching my order for something else was quite off-putting. About 2 yearsago, this used to be my favourite lunch place, where I’d order a gyudon nearly every time. Now the gyudon has been “soldout” for about a year, but they never took it off the menu. They also removed avocado from the eel and avocado don, whilekeeping the same $20 price. Read more

Salmon don was and red tonkotsu ramen were ok. I think salmon was fresh. But everything is little bit pricey.

Loved everything about this place! Staff is super friendly without being intrusive, food is amazing (both ramen and chirashi),... drinks were delicious - and personally really enjoyed the mochi boba, it was softer than tapioca usually is and has a mildsweetness. Would def come back at some point, if not this trip then next trip up to northern California! Read more

For those who complains it’s too sweet, you actually can choose 25% sweet or no sugar at all. Or simply ask the people working... there, they are all so sweet and always ready to answer your questions and try their best to help. I really really love thisplace! Read more

Got the deluxe kaisen don and the red tonkotsu ramen. Forgot to take a picture of the ramen as I dove in head first. The food... was great and exactly as how they would describe it “alley style eateries from japan”. Also the service was amazing. Considering the location and the cost of the food, it’s really hard to beat what this place offers. If I were to make onesuggestion the sushi rice could have more vinegar + salt, but I understand as that could throw off folks who are used to plainwhite rice. I’ll definitely be coming back soon. Alley kitchen does an excellent job in carry-out Japanese food during pandemic. The presentation is very nice. Its ramen is... really good. If you are not too hungry, I would go for a ramen in this place. Otherwise, you can try their rice dishes.Portion size for rice dishes is huge. Curry chicken don is good and filling. Gyu (beef) don is not well made though as itdoesn’t have enough sauce. Overall, a welcome addition to the Cal campus dining scene but you may need to try a few differentdishes to see what suits you best. Read more

Its a new opening restaurant in the berkeley area, and its already packed with the crowd. They served many good foods such as... ramen, donburi and chirashi at a very affordable price from $10 I specifically order the deluxe ramen that comes with extra eggand meats, at the affordable price range, the ramen surprisIngly taste so good and one of the best I have ever tried. You canalso custom the type of the noodle without any extra charge. The ramen comes in three flavor, tonkotsu, black and red. Go forred if you love spicy and black if you love a strong broth (personally I am) We also ordered their chirashi bowl which is veryfresh lastly we tried the organic matcha they had which named whisk. They have many flavors but our favorite is matchamango Definitely worth to try this restaurant Read more
