On a little get away with my husband and had the best experience here! First the inside is beautiful. I love the... rustic/antique/cottage look. It's feels so cozy and laid back here. Make sure you look at times cause they're only open a fewdays a week, but it's not summer yet. We started with the Duck Wontons and they where amazing!!! They have the best French Onion soup! We ordered the bison steak and one with an added lobster tail for $12. The salad bar is... lovely and so was their dessert! I've been dining at the Brass Lantern since 1976. In that time, they've only had two owner/operators. I've never had anything... but great food, excellent service, and at reasonable pricing. Since the present owners took over many years ago, the menu hasgotten much more diverse, the daily specials never disappoint, and of course their delicious salad bar and homemade dressingshave never been better. I applaud the fact that the management and employees always welcome my family with open arms and alwaysseem to give us the VIP treatment - regardless of how busy they may be! I'm so thankful they are just a short drive away, andhope they continue their dining legacy for many years to come! Read more
I had looked forward to eating at this local legend, and while I was certainly not disappointed I was a little underwhelmed. The... service was friendly, the appetizers and sides were very good, but my steak was good but not great. Also, the wait for thefood seemed a little long considering that the place was not that busy, but it was later on a Sunday evening, so that may havebeen the cause. Granted, my expectations were high, but I've had better steaks for less money elsewhere. We were just passing through the town and decided to stop in and get some dinner, the food was phenomenal! The filets were... delicious and very tender with delicious snap peas, baked potatoes, and grilled shrimp! The staff was very polite and nice. Wehave absolutely no complaints! I loved the atmosphere, very quaint. Staff was very efficient. Our waitress was the only one but she was holding her own making... sure everyone was alright. Hostess came a few times also asked if we needed anything. The food was very tasty. Portions wereperfect. Not too much & not stingy either. I loved the salad bar. Very nice over all. Read more
