Hostess was very unfriendly, never smiled, the waitress finally came to take our order, when asked what we wanted, I wanted my... eggs over medium, she said the cook only likes to cook them scrambled, I told my party with me, let?s just go, she said let meask the cook and then she came back and said that he would do them just this once. Amazing to me, a restaurant that is only openfrom 6:00-2:00, a breakfast and lunch only restaurant, will only do scrambled eggs. I come to Benson fairly often, but theywon?t have to worry about me asking for fried eggs anymore. Read more

As an answer to the owner's question I am adding this description.The atmosphere of this place is nice, however we didn't like... the food here. We had a mini wheel Special and Benedict. What we didn't like:1. the sausage patty was dry and salty and tasteslike a cheap patty from supermarket 2.hollandaise sauce was not uniform, I think it was not prepared correctly. Read more
I don't say this lightly, but this was probably one of the best breakfasts I've ever had. I wanted to give the cook a hug.... Also, great service and very reasonable prices - it'll definitely be our go-to restaurant when we're in the area! Read more
Just as good as the last time we visited 5 years ago in 2017. Very good for breakfast or lunch. Some very well priced breakfast... specials. Homemade hash. Food was fresh, tasty, and served hot. First let me start out by saying, my apologies for taking so long to get to this review. It was almost a year ago that Rob and I... went and spent a weekend here in Benson. We had a wonderful time. We were walking down 4th, looking in all the windows of theshops because by this time, Covid was making everything practically impossible to get into but that didn't stop us. We walked byand spoke to someone who came out of the tattoo shop, great parlor by the way, and came up to the Horseshoe Cafe and Bakery. Itwas one thing to stand outside peering in the windows but when we opened the door and walked in, I was taken back. The beautifulwood that holds itself strong in design is absolutely amazing and the Staff it employs is something to be envious of. We wereseated in a large booth in the back that was nice and private where we talked in awe of our choice to dine. Our servers name wasMelissa, (hey Melissa!!) and she was absolutely amazing herself. She offered suggestions, brought out sauces for me to try, andjoined in with a joke or two. Rob ordered the Chicken Fried Chicken, if I remember correctly, and I ordered the Rueben. SOdelicious!! The bread was grilled to a buttery crisp and the onion rings were done just right. Not mushy like alot of placesserve them. Yuck! After we ate, Rob surprised me when he wanted to bring back with us to our hotel room, a dessert. This was thebiggest piece of cake that I have ever seen!! Unfortunately I can't remember the name,...I want to say Butterum, Butter Scotch,or maybe it was a Carrot Cake,....? It's been too long, but I have pictured of this bad boy and you'll know exactly which one Imean when you stop in for a meal. You can't miss it. Stopped here on our way home in October 2021 to grab a bite. The food was pretty good. Service was good and waitress very... friendly. I prefer zucchini fries or wedges rather than medallions but the fried chicken in our wrap and sandwich was chickenbreast and very moist. Wish we would?ve had room to try their pies but we were so full! Would definitely try the pie next time! Read more
This place is open for breakfast and lunch. Old time charm. The Eggs Benedict was very good. The hollandaise sauce was buttery... with a hint of lemon, the way it should be. The biscuits with sausage gravy was absolutely tasty. Reasonably price and greatcustomer service. Read more
