Reviews for Alberto's Italian Restaurant in Bennington, NH
Food is ok, 75% of the time when we call in an order, we get home and the order is incorrect. The person on the phone always has... a difficult time taking our order correctly. Simple, crispy chicken Alfredo rather than grilled chicken. Thier grilled chickentastes strongly of char hence the reason we like it crispy. If we revieved our order correctly consistently and the person onthe other end of the phone was more competent, I would have given 4 stars.... Read more
Very comfortable atmosphere. Service was ok, food was over-priced for the quality, in my opinion. If the marinara sauce is made... in-house, they should find a new recipe. It looked and tasted like tomato paste, with a few chopped onions. Staff was veryfriendly, and the restaurant was above average for cleanliness. Read more
The place was amazing????. We will definitely come here again. Don’t go grocery shopping hungry, come here and eat first!
We are from out of town and decided to try this place last week. The restaurant and food was just ok. We got a sausage pizza... that I ordered with onion at additional charge and it was bland, and the crust was hard. Very stingy on the toppings, there justwasn't much sausage or onion, if I had known I would have asked to double or triple them. I have purchased frozen pizzas thatwere better, but I guess since I wasn't from the area this just might be normal? My husband got pasta with meatball. Themeatball must have been mostly filler because that is all we tasted. The sauce was tasteless also, it was like they forgot toseason the food. Maybe the cook was new, as this restaurant seems to have been here for around 75 years. Read more
Service was a bit slow. Shrimp Scampi was lacking flavor not worth the price. Swordfish sat by itself on the plate, no sauce or... topping. Disappointed ???? Read more
My boyfriend and I had a wedding to go to up in Greenfield and he surprised me by stopping here in Bennington for dinner before... we drove back home. When I saw this place, it looked like an apartment building but was very easy to find the entrance. I walkedin and thought someone knew me but then found out her and I have the same name haha, funny stuff! I ordered Chicken Marsala, usually that meal includes plain pasta, chicken and the marsala sauce are on the same plate but this restaurant has 2 seperateplates and the pasta has tomato sauce on top in a bowl which I have no complaints, their food was absolutely amazing! I don'tremember the server's name but she made me a rum and coke, and it was very good. Don't drive by just by the looks of thebuilding, you may miss out on an amazing opportunity to taste excellent food and meet great staff! Read more
I enjoyed the food and had a good server. Bit surprised to be served Butter with the Bread being the type of Restaurant is... Atialan. Luckily I decided to have basic Oil and Vinegar on my Salad, luckily the Oil was Olive. Appropriately I made a littleOil and Spice from the Pepper and Salt to dip my Bread into, in the small dish to use before the main dishes were served.Worked out well. The Veal Cutlet was cooked to perfection and melted in my mouth. Zeety was slightly cold around the edges.Thier Red Saus was slightly acidaty and needed to be adjusted with a strong base like Suger or maybe even some Raisons to cutthe acid, saus was quite hot, enjoyable to have hot food for hot food. The saus did help the Zeety heat up. My Salad wasenjoyable, tasted like it was made with fresh ingredients. Thier Grated Cheese was finely grated and was in a small shaker. When I tried to get some out by shaking, it didn't work out well, so I took the Cover off of the jar and then plenty came out.Seemed to be fresh Cheese, slightly moist, tasted well. Chose to be seated in the Bar area since the main table area had aslightly noisy party eating and the place has some acoustics when only a few patrons are present and the Bar Tables were empty.Perfect for taking photos without disturbing the other patrons. The eating areas were set up quite nicely and were pleasingly tothe eye. Nicely decorated not over done. Place started to fill up when it was time for me to check out. This means enoughvehicles are in the parking lot. That usually suggests that the food is good, if not people would not want to return for a badmeal, correct? The menu is also the placemat for your Seating. What a perfect concept, always wondered if those plastic coveredmenus were cleaned from their previous use. I have seen other establishments wipe off theirs. If you were meeting someone, itlooked like a very comfortable couple of chairs just inside the entrance to use while you were waiting. Went there with 3 adult 2 teens, it was weird set up, an old house with several small crowded dining areas. The wait was over... 45 minutes, the food, sigh, I mean I can't say it was bad but the shrimp scampi was skimpy, the portions almost exactly govtrecommended serving sizes, kinda pricey for what we got. One plate of linguine was perfectly el denti while the angle hairpasta was cooked almost to glue. We might go back to see how they do for a couple but we'll see. Read more
