Three of us were looking for lunch and found good reviews for The Van's Restaurant close to where we were. It is a small place... with a lot of take out and shared tables. They have a good menu with breakfast and lunch choices along with good prices. Youorder at the counter, no table service. We each had something different. One had Fried Shrimp and Fries and had enough to takesome home. Another had Strawberry Pancakes with Eggs, Bacon and Sausage and was really happy. Very picturesque sitting on a hill looking down. Perfect location for dates. Food is tasty too. I ordered cheesesteak sandwich... the meat are in slices instead of chopped strips. Everyone in my party are blown away with the food they ordered not one isdisappointed. Definitely a place to come back to. Read more
I love The Van's. Today I had the an awesome Caesar Salad and poached river Salmon with sauteed mushrooms for lunch. Perfectly... prepared and truly fantastic. The service was great as always. I had a young blood named Charles who was enjoyable,smooth-as-silk, and on top of his server game. I've been eating there for quite a while and just the sweeping view alone isworth a visit. A little pricey for so-so food. With the exception of hamburger, meat was overcooked. Asked for medium and had absolutely no... pink inside. Hamburger was cooked to medium perfectly with just the right amount of pink in the center though. Nice views. Can be a little dark getting out at night on sloped terrain. Read more
