Reviews for The Birch Door Cafe in Bellingham, WA
Absolutely wonderful place with really good portions, and the food is both hearty and delicious! The atmosphere is very good,... and they are also really good about getting everyone seated and served even when busy! I definitely recommend it as adestination when you have guests visiting out of town. I also appreciate the ?lighter fare? options, which includes a drink inthe price. It?s a great option for folks who don?t have a lumberjack-sized appetite. The signature dishes also live up to thehype. The apple pancake has been very hot the two times I?ve gone, so I suggest planning a little extra time for your visit ifyou want to get it. It is definitely an experience worth waiting for! Read more
Went on a Sunday, the place is near the exit. They had a waiting list, their system was pretty efficient. Got seated within 10... minutes for how busy they were. Our server was very friendly, from the hosts to the people refiling your coffee. For people wholoves coffee, do reco this place quite on point for that service. I got hot tea, the tea was made by a local tea store just downthe street; was great to know they also support their fellow small business. Husband got biscuits and gravy, while I got theirFrench toast. Great portions and would say timely service for how much people they serve during the weekend. Read more
Drove all the way from Seattle to try brunch at this place and we were certainly not disappointed. We had to wait for about an... hour to get a table but it was worth it. The food was delicious and quantity was quite large. If you get the omelette, you willalso get 3 pancakes along with it (but we didn?t mind at all). The Mimosas were great too and they had a bunch of differentflavours. I always love it when restaurants serve mimosas with freshly squeezed orange juice - makes a huge difference. Read more
The Birch Door Cafe is inspired, scratch home-cooked deliciousness just like my Grandma Ruth used to make! ???? Seriously,... another reviewer described their dishes as ?ethereal? (he was RIGHT!). I saw the pictures & had to try it out before hittingthe road, all those accolades had me hooked. Dined there for lunch & it was EVERYTHING! Seriously, one of the BEST breakfasthouses ever. Friendly staff - our server Cece was perfection & the housekeeping here is IMMACULATE! Will definitely stop bywhen back in Bellingham. (Side Note: If you?re diabetic or weight conscious this may not be your place, it is utterlydecadent.) ?everyday is a cheat day at The Birch Door Cafe. ???? Read more
Our first stop on our day trip from Vancouver to Bellingham. Lovely ambiance and service. The wait time was over 40min at 9am on... a Saturday, the place was super busy but tables were assigned as they were ready. The food portion size is so huge and the foodwas just delicious. There was free parking at the back which was full by 8:30am. Definitely would recommend this place and goingback when in the area. Read more
We absolutely loved this place. We were on our way up to Vancouver, BC for a day trip and starving! When we asked for a "table... for 2", the hostess made us aware that the wait time would be about 60 - 75 min. No problem. We waited for about 35 min untilthey called us. My wife and I had a wonderful and belly-busting breakfast. The best in town. Thank you for putting a HUGE smileon our faces! Here's a secret to the short wait time... make sure you're there when they call your name! Read more
We have been to this place a couple of times and the first time we came to Birch Door I said that it might be the best breakfast... I?ve had in Bellingham. We came again this morning and I think it solidified that. This really IS the best breakfast place. Theambiance, the food, the coffee, and especially the service is impeccable. Bianca was out latest server and she was absolutelywonderful and gave great recommendations. The standouts here, and what my boyfriend and I come for, are the Viennese coffees andsides of blueberry pancakes. They truly are the best. All the omelettes are great though, and I highly recommend the Mexicanomelette or the birch door breakfast. You cannot miss here though. Read more
The Birch Door gets five stars from me! We showed up in a Sunday at about 10:30 and had a 30-45 minute wait but it was no... problem! The restaurant is beautiful and allows indoor and outdoor seating while waiting for a table. A big bonus, you can orderdrinks in the lobby while you wait! I ordered the biscuits and gravy, my friend ordered pancakes, eggs, and bacon and we bothgot the hot coffees with cinnamon and espresso whip, highly recommend! The service was top notch with friendly, attentive staff.Highly recommend stopping by for breakfast or brunch Read more
