Loved the food and waitstaff. What I didn't like was the long wait for shrimp. I know it's all you can eat and there's gonna be... a wait but they didn't seem to appear to be prepared. Anyway. Last time I ate there was 5 stars. Will definitely eat here again Read more
Our waitress, Melissa and our bartender Ally were superb, we had a party of 40 people on a Sunday and Melissa stepped up. She... was amazing. Food was ridiculously good. Still tasting the catfish. It's just so good. Ally The bartender outside so sweet. Justmade you feel at home and like you've been there before like this is just a gathering place. I hope this place really makes itbecause their food is great and their weight staff had was just phenomenal. They also have live entertainment now on Sundaysfrom 2:00 to 4:00. I wish they could extend it because there's not a big crowd before that time. But the guy who is singing Ican't remember his name and I hate that. Food-gasmic!!!! Ample parking, open yet cozy environment with a gorgeous huge patio!!!! Next to I-10, easy in, easy out! Was... there on a Sunday around 1500. Colorado transplant, looking for my new favorite! The food was amazing, the service evenbetter. Our server Daniel was amazing! Kind, courteous and knowledgeable with the menu! Daniel graciously provided a sneak peakof the menu as a welcome for the first time visit ???? Fried green tomatoes and Voo-Doo sauce they will blow your mind!???????? Had the fried pickles, fried mushrooms, fish bites, boundin balls with voodoo sauce and ranch. The batter was so lightand crisp. Amazingly Delicious ???? First time in. The restaurant itself is a little dated on the outside, but don't let it fool you. The inside is great. It was... clean, and the hostess was really friendly. My waitress was really friendly. She let me try the fried green tomatoes and I haveto admit they were just like grandma used to make. I ordered the fried crawfish tails with red beans and rice. The portion sizewas HUGE. I had plenty left over to take back to my hotel. The red beans and rice I just can't get over. I'd given up onfinding any that were any good. The food was great, but I can't remember the last time I've had such poor service. This visit occurred on a cold evening. Our... group of six adults (one was eight months pregnant) and a two year old were seated in the open area near the fireplace, but itwas set so low that it only provided a visual effect, no actual warmth. There were about six patio heaters in this area. Onesmall group had two. Another table of four had the other four. The host wouldn't ask to move even one heater from the group whohad four heaters. We sat for a few minutes, but it was just too cold and we said we would just wait for a table inside. We wewere eventually seated. We then sat for about 30 minutes with no one coming to our table to begin service. I finallyapproached two of the waiters that had been walking back and forth past our table and asked if someone could help us. They didso immediately, were very nice and apologetic, noting there was a miscommunication. After a long wait we finally got our food.I had asked for one of the featured drink specials with my meal, but it didn't come. Our waiter, though very nice, rarely cameby to check on us, so it wasn't worth it to me ask for it. However someone in our party mentioned it, though I had ate most ofmy meal by then. The waiter, again very apologetic then brought me two, one on the house. It was kind gesture, but one was morethan enough since my meal was long gone and it was now getting later in the evening. We then sat about another half hour withno check. We eventually asked for, and received, our check. After everything that had happened, I would have thought the levelof attentiveness would have improved at the end, but it did not. We?ve came here plenty of times with no issues and had the worst experience ever tonight. Phones were down so we went in to... order. We ordered 1.5 lbs of boiled shrimp with a bowl of gumbo. Anyone from the south knows it takes 3 minutes to boil shrimpand the gumbo is in a pot ready to serve. We waited for an hour while there was so many staff sitting around and hardly anycostumers in the building. Two people came in after us and still got food before we did. We questioned the hostess multipletimes and a gentleman that I later found out was a manager came up to us twice asking if we needed anything whom I told we werestill waiting on boiled shrimp. As a manager this is outrageous. If you noticed and approached me twice within an hour timeframe obviously you knew there was an issue that needed to be resolved. I got home to old gumbo with no rice, probably lessthan 1 lb of shrimp, no seasoning which we asked for, and the wrong number of potatoes corn and sausage. By the time we got backup there the same gentleman that asked if I needed help twice came out once I asked for a manager and apologized and gave us a30 dollar gift card when our order was 45 plus we tipped them still. We shouldn?t have had to pay in the first place and theyshould have been way more empathetic. Definitely won?t be back. Such a sad story being that we really loved this place. We didfind out they only serve shrimp by the pound which is fine. We would have gladly ordered 2 lbs if we had the option!!! If Icould have given no stars I would have ???? Read more
