Wouldnt say its the best ever, i prefer crispier hush puppies and didnt favor their slaw, but the okra was great and potatoes... super yummy and buttery. Yummy! Glad I picked this restaurant for lunch while in Beaufort. Barbq plate, pecan pie, & lemonade. A+ food and nice crew!
This place was really great! Classic vinegar barbeque with sides. The day we went, it was pretty busy in the restaurant and with... phone orders coming in. The business helped with getting freshly cooked food. The staff was also very nice. You pay and get yourfood at the same time. Finally open at night again. We ordered 2 plates and side of shrimp, bill was around $22.00 same amount it cost week before at... fast food place! Roland's much better! Only reason I didn't leave 5 stars is a concern that some things seemed downgraded fromoriginal quality. This may be because of rising prices on everything country wide, pre-recession! Read more

I wanted to give them a try after the change in ownership. I got the combo plate which is BBQ pork along with fried chicken. I... had the Brunswick stew and the corn for sides and of course the hush puppies. I'm used to the style of BBQ Port and I am a fanof vinegar base. They let theirs set in the sauce for a while which I'm not against. Very strong flavors of vinegar. theBrunswick Stew was not that great but everything else was on point. The fried chicken with some of the best I've had in years.The skin was crispy and definitely a lot of flavor. the food certainly did not decline after the change in Management. Most bar b que places have a 2 meat or 3 meat and some have sample platters. Here you will get good food. But if your wanting a... couple different meat or a sample plate this is not the place to go..service was good and food was good. But have to buy eachmeat separately. Which can get pricey quick. It's set like a cafeteria go down a line picking items out for your plate and payat the end. And after you leave.the end. Your on your own to get things or to clean a high chair.or your drinks which they onlyhave 1 size. Spent like 44 bucks on 2 kids meals 2 adult meals and 3 vinger ribs.. Read more
