Had a nice dinner at Aqua for our first night of the beach weekend. We struggled to find a vegan option but the waiter was... extremely helpful in working out a suitable meal. We got the hummus appetizer and the arugula salad and a side of mixedvegetables. Overall very good! Also got the crab cake which was delicious. Read more
Sorry, the staff was lovely bug the food wasn't worth the calories or price. Forgive me sounding like a food critic but I don't... think I'm unreasonable. -the pimento cheese bites were fantastic, turns out gojuchang and southern cheese go well. -the tunaappetizer was disappointing. Over marinated possibly, no tuna taste, all sweet soy blend. -the sirloin and crab cakes was a hugelet down. The steak was fine, though I prefer more sear, and the crab cake was fine, covered in a Sriracha sauce so thats allyou taste, but the real villain was everything else. I don't feel that Corn and Peas belong on a menu of items >$30, but thereit was. I love peas and corn, but they have a distinct flavor that wasn't complimented here, so every bite of steak or crab withthe mashed potatoes just tasted like peas and corn. -the catch was a snapper? I think... I didn't eat it, my partner said somebites were super salty while others weren't. -finally, creme Brule! Tasted fine. Massive 2 person serving (maybe 4 people!).However the whole dish was frigid. Like even the top, the part that is usually fired right before it goes out. Again tastedfine, but the cold crust made me concerned that they prepared and refrigerated the entire dish, instead of at least firing itbefore it goes to the table. We've eaten here countless times in the past 15 years. And I should have written 5 star reviews during that time - my bad!... THAT'S how good and consistent the staff, service, and food has been! During those years many people, like us, have participatedin the every second Tuesday wineOrama because of the great wines made available to enjoy with your dinner. Usually it is 4,sometimes 5 wines, poured by staff and discussed by the wine distributor for a very reasonable price. These wines are thenavailable for purchase. We find it is the perfect amount to consume with dinner, especially if driving home is more than alittle distance! On this visit we enjoyed an arugula salad, a grilled petite filet, and the red drum fish special. I canhonestly say we've never had anything other than an excellent meal with fresh ingredients, attentive service, and creativeflair, for a reasonable fine dining price! This was my second visit. It was just as good as I remembered. We had the fried pimento cheese and hummus appetizers. Both were... good but the fried pimento cheese was better. 2 had the grouper special. I had the crab cake. 1 had the petite fillet. We allcleaned our plates. It was that good.
