This was our second time here and both times we sat at the bar both times we had a great friendly professional bar tender, The... young man helping both times was friendly as well. Spotless environment over all and great country music playing in thebackground with television above bar area to watch a game,outdoor sitting out front and on the side of building. We try theblackened grill boudin link which was outstanding and first time I order the blackened grill shrimp meal Shrimp was a littleover cooked and steam veggies which were plain steamed so second time I got a side of butter and they were perfect my husbandgot the seafood salad with their vinaigrette both times and loved it everything about it. Went here for lunch with my boss and it was a great experience. Our waiter was excellent. And the fondue is a must try. I was born on the bayou (CCR singing) so my review will be harsher than the others. The place is clean, service was on par. We... arrived at 1:55 and waited for our server. It was around 2:01 when the server gave introduction. We did ask if they would honorthe lunch specials which ended at 2. However, they do with a 2 dollar up charge (the dinner menu is cheaper if you are upcharged the 2). They do offer brewed tea, sweet and unsweetened. The food is overpriced. 25 for a seafood platter that has twooysters, two shrimp, I got one stuffed shrimp, two small hush puppies, and two catfish filets. No salad and only one side. Thecatfish is thick, undercooked, and extremely muddy tasting. The crab cakes have a good bit of crab meat inside but they aredry. Hush puppies are no bueno. The salmon was around 18 for the fish and one side. I?m not a salmon eater however, the salmonwas cooked well. I have eaten at two locations and both times have been lackluster. Personally, it?s not an establishment tovisit just to say you?ve gone (Buc ees) and the food does not equate to what a customer is charged. Floyd's is an excellent place to go for lunch. The beer on tap was cold and the staff were extremely friendly. The restaurant... itself was packed yet still really clean. I had the calamari appetizer followed by the Snow Crab legs. The Floyd's special sauceused for the calamari was ok, but I would have preferred marinara; other than that they were well made and delicious. The SnowCrab was also very well made. The seasoning used is very, very spicy and lives up to the Cajun expectations. The atmosphere wasfriendly and fun. I didn't find the prices too high considering the quality of the food given. 3 1/2 stars feel more like it. My review is similar to others. First time at Floyd's. Service was good (with the exception of... running out of beer & waiting for someone from the bar to bring it) We ate around 6pm on Sat. Night. The place was packed, wewere told 40min wait (family of 4) but only waited about 20mins. Food came quickly but was somewhat lacking. The flavor justwasn't all there for the price. We had the steak & (3) shrimp plate which was decent but should have a few more shrimp, and thered fish topped w/Ponchatrain sauce. Without the Pontchartrain sauce, which was excellent but a additional $9, the fish itselfwas blan, I also feel like at the price these plates should come with more than 1 side. Kids meal were as expected for $6. Friedcrawfish tails & catfish had no flavor at all.. Service was good, restaurant & restrooms were clean, atmosphere was fun but alsohad a splash of sophistication. We are always excited to be able to try new places that don't use latex gloves in the prep and serving of the food. The... atmosphere was rejuvenating after a long 4 hour drive we had into the area. And the environment was very clean. The staff wasfriendly and our server anticipated our needs. The menu is daunting as they have many things to choose from. But you should beable to find something for everyone- chicken, beef, multiple types of fish, shrimp, alligator, crawfish, frog legs, etc. Ialways enjoy a stiff drink, and they indeed can serve up a strong one. The draw back was the price. Most plates were priced thesame. Perhaps during the weekday you can take advantage of the lunch specials that didn't carry as high of a cost. Read more
